Yeah I know what ya mean..same with adding a demo in there as well. Ya kinda got to look at them as just added bonuses. The Town of Salem is a currency pack. The demo shouldn't be in there in my opinion.. it should just be added to steam. I think what kinda rubs me the wrong way a little bit is Humble Bundle labels them as game number 5 and game number 7 when it's a currency and a demo. They should just label them as added bonuses.

Soma - Good choice for an early unlock. This is the game that really sells the bundle in my opinion.
Banner Saga - Excellent game. It's definitely a quality game. However, I'm really surprised to see it in this bundle though. It was in a Banner Saga bundle for $1 on Humble Bundle in the past and it's also been on a 75% off sale numerous times on various sites.
WWE 2K16 - Not really into pro wrestling anymore and the game seems to have some issues with save files being corrupted..which would really suck. It's gotten heavily mixed reviews and it appears not many people are online to play with and they literally just had a 75% off sale(it was $12.50) on the game. It currently has around 500 people and I'm guessing a lot of them are there because they got the Humble Monthly. Taking all this into consideration, I'm really surprised and kinda disappointed this in the monthly bundle. 2k just had a bundle too. I'm surprised it wasn't wasn't added as a Tier 2 or 3 on the 2k bundle.
Sheltered - Looks like a kool little pixel graphics zombie apocalypse game. I was on the fence about it but it almost made my wishlist. Not a bad choice for the monthly. It was previously a tier 4, weekly bundle for Team 17.
Epistory Typing Chronicles - This is on my top 30 wishlist so I'm pretty happy.
Town Of Salem - It's a free game...you get $5 of store currency. It's a currency pack. Putting in free games into a subscription never really feels right to me.
The Uncertain: Episode 1 the last quiet day DEMO - It's only a demo not a full game. Demos bother me because these are things that should just be added to steam. Wrapping it into a bundle kinda makes me smh.
Spool Side - Looks like a kool little indie game from Humble Bundle.
Overall View - Is this bundle worth $12? Yes, and honestly it always is. Even if you don't like the games you definitely got way over $12 worth of games. I'm really happy Epistory is in there. I kinda look at this as I paid for Epistory with a small discount and got everything else free.
October Monthly Bundle - Early Unlock is Grim Dawn - To me it's definitely worth the 12 bucks, so I'll continue to sub.

Even if people don't like this month. They have to admit it was better than last month's trash month.
I actually got pretty excited when I saw WWE 2k16. (Although I still want WWE 2k15 because Hulk Hogan). Going to try to trade for it or winz it. Lots of giveaways cause no one wants it. xD
I think my biggest grip is The Uncertain is a demo. And we only got 5 steam games after SOMA. I coulda sworn it says 6 steam games after the game of the month game.

The 6th game is the Spool Side.
I think having the COD multiplayer as an early unlock really rubbed people the wrong way. They may have been better off putting the Van Helsing pack as the early unlock. I'm thinking they might not of done that because a lot of people already own them. Random Access Murder is a free game... no idea why they would put that in. At least the bundle wasn't so bad you couldn't trade the games for other ones.

WWE 2K16? Why? Could've been in the 2K bundle and we know how buggy and overly priced EA's games are.
Epistory seems unique in gameplay. I don't think it's my kind of game, but I like to try the games instead of judge based on looks, etc.
Banner Saga looks interesting, even though it's not entirely my cup of tea.
Uncertain seems nice, but I wish it was a key for the game instead.
Spoolside seems interesting, although the video for it is removed/taken down by the owner, so it's hard to speculate with that.
SOMA won me over, although I plan to stay subbed to HB regardless (Unless they get REALLY bad as in a lot of free games, demos, etc) That's the job of a streamer. To try out games to see if they're shitty/for you or not.

Ouch. WWE 2k16 js one of the very few games I've actually gone to the trouble of clicking the "not interested" box on steam. Soma looks good and I look forward to playing it sometime. Nothing else appeals to me. I see talk about a couple of them so I'll check them out further and hope for the best.

Town of salem may be getting talked about above but its very much not my kind of thing. This bundle is not looking very good.
Next months unlock was already on my whishlist so I'll likely stay in another month.
Most people seemed to complain about last month but I liked that one. I consider it better then this one. Overall I'm sure its still worth it and hence the reason I'm still in.
Oh well. Guess this might bump me up a level as long as the WWE game does not count as a bundled game. Not sure how the monthlys work with that. It can't be normal can it, its not like we bought it knowing we were buying it. I've read above that it won't be considered bundled. Is there a FAQ on how this stuff is calculated?

Bundling for the Monthly is determined by whether the standard bundle price of $12 is 95% off the total MSRP for all the games. It's not in this case, so nothing is considered bundled (other than what is already on the list).
For regular bundles, games that are usually in the highest tiers (Tier 3 and above at $12 or more) are usually not considered bundled. There can be exceptions, but this is the basic guideline to understand.

Yes. Since the monthly is a single tier or no tier, it's generally all or nothing.

Kind of. 1st tier and BTA are always bundled, but then depending on the cost of tier 3 or 4 or whatever, usually not. My observation is that a $10 high tier is likely to get bundled, but a $12 or $15 or $20 or more high tier won't.
Once again, this is just our understanding looking from the outside. It's at the bundle person's discrection to determine whether something goes on the list and there is no hard and fast "law" that governs that.

Thank you for the clarification. I'm sure I'll put up the WWE one at some point. The others I'll need to look at better and decide if I want them or not. Its bundle status does not determine if I will give it away or not but its still nice to know the general guild lines.

I'm happy to get SOMA at a good price but I'm quite unhappy with the rest of the bundle. Wrestling, a demo (???), a F2P game (???) and a few just ok looking indie games. Bleh. Epistory is the only one I'll likely keep and trade/give the rest away. I mean, it's still fine for $10.20 USD or whatever I paid but pales compared to earlier bundles.
I have not much interest in Grim Dawn so I'll likely bow out for the next month...

As someone who recently started to subscribe to humble bundle, I can't say I'm impressed. WWE: Joke of a game don't want. Sheltered is apparently broken, a typing game, town of salem, which you can literally play for free online, SOMA is apparently good, the first episode in an episodic (which to enjoy just means I'd have to buy the others. It feels like an incomplete experience), and spoolside. which seems like a little puzzle game. Since I'm not one for horror games, pretty much the only game on there that is possibly worth my time is The Banner Saga. And honestly, that sucks. It seems like I would have been better off with saving the cash for a sale for games I'd actually want.

If you are not a collector, or someone who does a lot of trading or giveaways, then the Humble Monthly is almost definitely not for you. Way too diverse in games, so finding more than two you might like in a pack is very unlikely. You may be better off if you just try to buy the games that were interesting here or maybe at the Group Buys forums on Steam (some people do retroactive bundle split for next to no profits).

Wish I could have an answer to that. For me it seems that it can be equally difficult, because sellers really tend to want ridiculous profits and buyers often want to pay less than what the seller paid for the key.
(But, hey,miracles can happen. I sold the Steam key for SOMA for 6 bucks, meaning half the bundle was paid before reveal, and I still could play the game if I cared about first-person horror, because the DRM-free download is on my account. And it seems that it is possible to sell the WWE key for about the same, so i may have a free monthly in the end. =D)

I was mainly thinking about group buys here, since, while it gives you no profit, it tends to be easy and fast. You can have some games which nobody wants as seller or can have games you are unable to snatch as buyer. Personally, if i can afford to buy myself, i prefer the security of the "first pick" and hope that with weighted prices I won't end up in a loss (possibly even better off than group buying, since I can weight a bit in my favor :P).

Ah, yes. True there. It can be a gamble on what you consider a good pick in the pack and what the buyer does. Risk is definitely involved.

the bundle was not to bad for $12 i guess but now they are starting to include demos in the bundles..i hope that does not become a thing...if they are going to include a demo it should be as an extra and not count as one of the 8 games..

they didnt give us a key for it as its just a demo and not on steam the full first chapter comes out on steam in two weeks, i found the link for the download in the list of your humble games drm free links for direct download:) or you can click your order page and click on last months monthly order and it will list the demo in there with the bundle and you can download from there.

Whoo! I had Epistory - Typing Chronicles on my wishlist, so having SOMA and that is pretty good! I would have kept The Banner Saga too, but I already have it. Same with Town of Salem. The WWE game is really WTH worthy but at least I can trade it. Gonna trade Sheltered too, doesn't look like my kind of game. If I can get two good games from the two I'm not keeping, then I'll consider it a steal.

Well, not too bad for me, 3 of them were on my wishlist (Soma, Epistory and Sheltered). I already own The Banner Saga and Town of Salem (fun game, by the way) and I am not really interested on WWE2K16.
The uncertain also looks good (although I am also disappointed that it's just the demo).
PS: Aren't the humble monthly games supposed to never have been previously bundled, by the way?
