I see quite a few people posting angry comments in threads they consider to be worthless trolls, aka shitpots. Instead of commenting there and bumping these threads to the top of the forum, how about staying out and letting them sink to oblivion?

Update, Oct 30: A good way to avoid the temptation to comment on shitposts is to hide them instead. Thanks Praxa for noting that ESGST has this option. Here's how to do it:

  1. If you don't have ESGST script installed, get it here
  2. After installation, click the ESGST button at the top of the page to open the script settings
  3. Scroll to Discussions (section #4) and enable both "Discussion Filters" and "Enable the option to hide discussions"
  4. When you see a discussion that you don't want to waste your time on, click the Eye icon to hide it. You can always unhide it from the Hidden Discussions management panel (open the script settings and click this button)

I got a tutorial that's way better to help people to not bump shitposts and that can potentially improve humanity

But if it contains GAs one entered?
Guess this leads to "not such a shitpost then". :D

There's no obligation to bump any post. The OP / GA creator can request people to bump their thread, but it's completely up to each person to decide if he/she wants to.

That's correct, but imho it's the least what you could do for the creator.

Some people just like to vent. One solution would be to outbump shitposts by intensively bumping good posts all the time :)

I strongly dislike users that are constantly brigading their own shitposts, answering to every single user over and over again, to make sure that their threads stay on top as long as possible.

You can hardly nitpick in a sentence that include "pls".

Conventional abbreviations are legitimate, even if the convention is only among internet users, and especially if abbreviation through frequent repetition has become standardized. I think 'pls' meets those criteria (along with deliberate conventionalized misspellings used for comedic effect like 'stahp'). But 'use' here is just sloppy, and then she doubled down on the error by posting a link to a grammar site proving that she misused it.

Well, steamgifts is supposed to be a site about giveaways, but there's the forum too, where you can see some comical threads from time to time.

People like to be angry and express ourselves when outraged or in disagreement. It's in our human nature.
We are crappy by nature. :3

This is good advice to follow...speaking as someone who has got wrapped up into internet arguments in the past (not really on here, but elsewhere).
