Ooh, definitely do give it a go. It's a wonderful, insane, inventive series -- and the settings, music, and unique Japanese aspects of it are what really make it shine. You should definitely play with a controller and analog sticks though.
I'm kinda kicking myself that I saw the similarities in the first pic to guess Noby Noby Boy but not realize that Noby Noby Boy aesthetics plus timer should equal Katamari Damacy! It's one of my all-time favorite game series.

So I just googled star wars race, since it did look like a track and it suggested racer and found the viedo that way.
