I think with bundles, a lot of people hit that 50 game number pretty fast, especially with registration limits. Of course, I'm not qualified to speak, since I'd probably be ineligible whatever the limit. Perhaps a better criteria is expecting winners to review the games a week or two after they win or be removed from the group?

That's a pretty good idea... the thing is, I don't really want to be responsible for that much management of the group. As you can see, it's a pretty casual thing.

But owning a relatively small number of games is not a guarantee that the user is to going play the game he wins (even though it's more likely I guess).
Wouldn't a better requirement be : you must have played/completed (not just farmed for cards) the majority of your wins, or something like that ?

Yeah, it might be... game count just seems like a much simpler thing on which to judge potential members. Maybe it's impractical, but I just don't want anything too high maintenance. Perhaps I'm just a lazy guy

Well before I joined this site a few months ago I would have been able to join since I only had 80 something games. Now I'm at 156 thanks to the two inactivated gifts and all of the free steam key giveaways by indiegala and the like.

The problem is that most people hoard games or just get enough over time. Especially since Steam now hosts many classics which people rebuy to own it in a cloud-based platform. Most accounts under 100 are either very new and highly unlikely to find this site, or bot/scam accounts.
The notion is great and I can support it fully, but I don't think it is possible to make it work this way.
Alternatively you may try a SteamDB unplayed ratio (this is my page for example), but again, idling accounts have really high ratios eventually without actually playing a game for a minute.

I appreciate your rationality here, and I agree. Although I'm still determined to maintain simplicity when it comes to judging potential users; this is entirely because I don't want to do a lot of work. I'm thinking about raising it to 200, though. Still pretty low considering the average user on SteamGifts, but there are lots of users. We'll see what happens.

I'm gonna blame the Deals forum for my lack of eligibility here - I have 118 games but only had 30 until a couple months ago or so (yes, even AFTER the summer sale) when I came here and saw all the amazing bundle deals being posted virtually every day.. :s
Edit: But if you do raise to 200 then I'd be interested.

It's a great idea, not at all stupid - in fact one reason my number isn't higher is that I only really try to buy (or enter giveaways for) games that I will play, others I give away. There are one or two exceptions, usually free keys..
