Hi all,

I love Grand Strategy games (despite being really bad at them) - so with Imperator Rome coming out on the 25th of April, here's a giveaway for those of you who have wishlisted the game (As of 14th of April 2019)

Other than that - basically you just have to have activated your games to enter - no level restrictions.

Imperator: Rome

For those of you who wish to play Imperator and win this giveaway and you haven't wishlisted the game, you do have a chance. Just make a comment advising that you wish to enter - then on the 20th of April I will roll 5 people (maybe 10 if we have a lot of people) who I will provide the link to.

Description

Alexander. Hannibal. Caesar. These great men and dozens like them shaped the destiny of a continent. Mighty kings, clever generals and would-be gods made their mark on the ancient Mediterranean. Around this sea, close knit nations tested their mettle and virtue against each other in fierce combat, their cultural and political legacy now inseparable from what we understand as Western Civilization. But nothing was guaranteed. Can you change the course of history in Imperator: Rome?

Imperator: Rome is the newest grand strategy title from Paradox Development Studio. Set in the tumultuous centuries from Alexander’s Successor Empires in the East to the foundation of the Roman Empire, Imperator: Rome invites you to relive the pageantry and challenges of empire building in the classical era. Manage your population, keep an eye out for treachery, and keep faith with your gods.
Imperator: Rome’s features include:

Character Management:

A living world of characters with varying skills and traits that will change over time. They will lead your nation, govern your provinces and command your armies and fleets. We also introduce our new, more human-like character art.

Diverse Populations:

Citizens, freemen, tribesmen and slaves - each population with its own culture and religion. Whether they fill your armies, fill your coffers or fill your colonies, keep an eye on their happiness - your success depends on their satisfaction.

Battle Tactics:

Choose your approach before battle to counter the stratagems of your foes.

Military Traditions:

Each culture has a unique way of waging war. Romans and Celts have different options available to them. Unlock unique bonuses, abilities and units.

Different Government Types:

Manage the senate in a Republic, hold your court together in a monarchy, answer to the clans in a tribal system.

Barbarians and Rebellions:

Migrating barbarians may sack or settle your best land, while disloyal governors or generals can turn against you - taking their armies with them!

Trade:

Goods provide bonuses to their home province. Will you take advantage of stockpiles for local strength or trade excess goods to spread the wealth around?

Provincial Improvement:

Invest in buildings, roads and defences to make your kingdom stronger and richer.

LoL! 3? I consider mine well... not out of control at the least but it still has 224 including DLC. Not sure I've any friends that have 3 or less.

Not looking to enter, just found out about the game yesterday. Great GA though.

I'm really excited about this game! CK2 and EU4 too expensive to buy with all DLC, but this one can be fresh start for me, like Stellaris.
Thank you for great giveaway!

EUIV is absolutely worth it..have more than 2k hours in that game! You can buy all dlc cheap when you compare prices.

Personally I like CK2 concept more. Family tree, funny and horrible unexpected events, intrigues, deep roleplay and other things. But I'm sure EU4 is great too. Anyway, I don't have a lot of free time now, so I'll wait for greater sales ^^

Nice, thank you for the GA.

I'm still on the fence about Imperator, seeing the state of HoI and Stellaris on release day vs. now.

Also, that globe scrolling will take some time getting used to..

then probably never worth to buy an ever-expanding game:-) I liked Stellaris even on day 1.

I can understand the uneasiness with the Paradox DLC strategy - although generally I find I get a good 100 hours or more between DLC's and so I find them to be worth it.

Nice giveaway but already purchased it on steam during lunar sale:-) Nice giveaway and not hard to be good in grand strategy, you just need fool AI! For example in EU4 I split my army to 2-3 neighboring mountainous-hill area then AI now knows they can beat my army (unrealistic AI nearly never attack if it is clear they can't win:-( ) with their Deathstack. Once the AI army can't turn back I start to move with my 1-2 other army to the battle and the split army which was selected by the enemy army for attacking usually can hold out (because of mountain-hill def bonuses) until those other armies arrive, then it easy win over that Deathstack. But this is just one small tip, grand strategy games have millions of secrets:-)

I hope you can give it to someone who will actually play and enjoy it.

I did not wishlist this game but I've followed the game since it was announced. What put me off at 1st was it looking too similar to CK2 although i do like the setting behind CK2, EU4. I am a big strategy fan too, further aspects that put me off is it being a grand strategy and from paradox. How much more DLCs would there be.

When I think about Roman strategy games, 1st thing I think I might enjoy is Total War: Rome. Because you'll get to spend less time and easier to conquer all the lands available and you'll be more focus on combat. I just love conquering places. One streamer changed my view of the game as he mentioned it has an easier interface which is a plus+. I think its time Paradox does a much combat concentrated Grand Strategy game which this might be. However being a big strategy fan, as much as the cons, as long as they did not blow the game somehow. Paradox does make enjoyable games.

If the slots is still open, I wish to try my chance on the gift.
Cheers and Happy Easter, Cruse~

oh got limit to 800 wishlist? Too bad I can't enter.
I like those strategy and tactical game. Most of them are turn base and my wishlist sure more than 800.
I am looking this game and also a lot of titles from slitherine publisher (Paradox and Slitherine are both publisher good in this Grand Strategy Game . Their Field of Glory: Empires work with another game Field of Glory 2 to become a Strategy Tactical game. I really hope I can enter this steamgift.

Yeah I had to put some kind of limit in - it was a lesson I've learnt which is some people have almost every game wishlisted and it kind of removes the aspect of people wanting to get the game and play it.

Although a 800+ game wishlist does not necessarily mean that, I'll be doing the draw of those who can get in separately in about 5 hours and you'll be counted in that :)
