Cookie acceptance modal displaying after every browser restart

The cookie acceptance modal (in the divs with id="ncmptool" and id="ncmpmodal") displays almost every time the browser is restarted. This started a few weeks or so ago. In earlier times it only rarely popped up.

Can you please correct this bug, so that it will actually remember my settings, instead of getting lobotomized on closing the browser? Thanks.
