PC Gamer UK was not too impressed either... Pity, I loved the first one... but let us see what other folks say, this might be a victim of high expectations, maybe?

King's Bounty II is a new Sacred 3 story?

New Disciples 3, but they look really good for the modern Russian gaming industry, mired in mobile donation garbage "games".

Its look like a cheap shit making from free assets and named "King's Bounty" with no reason.

"named "King's Bounty" with no reason."

I agree, but Kings Bounty from Katauri had almost nothing to do with the original game by NWC.
Like Wolfenstein series, like another games.

As for the assets, according to what I saw, I disagree, this is still not Star Citizen, but the design of the new game is more insipid than that of the game from Katauri, although there are enough beautiful locations

Well, folks, the time of truth has come! Will we finally get another Armored Princess? Or do we have another Warrior of the North / Dark Side to be baffled by? (My expectation was the latter.)

Ok, y'know, that somehow sounds even worse. XD

The original dev, Katauri (they also did Space Rangers) has nothing to do with this game, so my expectations weren't exactly high.

If you like Katauri's Kind's Bounty, try Legends of Eisenwald, it has similar concept but with more historical approach.

Honestly when I saw that preordering the game gives you items with actual game impact, mixed with the fact that the devs are not Katauri, I had a feeling it will be like this. Although it seems to be even worse than I guessed. I'm going to shill Songs of Conquest as it seems to be a good alternative for those HoMM/KB vibes

HoMM is still a thing nowadays thanks to HotA, but yeah, Songs of Conquest looks refreshing enough to get a new vibe

I don't like HotA, I feel that it pushes a game full of adventure and epic quests towards an e-sport, and it just isn't fun

After so many failed and buggy King's Bounties I had no hopes for this one. I would have been surprised if the game was rated good. How can a game that solved it's success formula with the first two titles follow up with failure after failure.

It's simple. Katauri created King's Bounty: The Legend and The Armored Princess/Crossworlds. A different developer did most of Warriors of the North and Dark Side, with Katauri only being called in at the last minute to polish it up so it kinda sorta resembled the other games in the series. Katauri had zero input on King's Bounty II.

I haven't play the game yet, but have seen some gameplay stream. I didn't expect much of it, but I must say I really liked what I've seen so far.
I've seen a review complaining that the game feels like it's 2000. Ironically enough, I could say the same, but in a positive way. The game has really good feel of classic fantasy. Love the designs - no big ass swords, flashing lights, etc. The ui is simple & clean, not overcomplicated. I just love it, but it seems that it just doesn't suit the current tastes.

I, for one, am eager to play it and pretty sure I'll like it.

Cheers ;)

Instead of an actual King's Bounty II,we got a shittier and overly expensive Ascension to the Throne with KB's name stamped on it for a fast brand recognition cashgrab.
So yeah-another great franchise successfully deep six'd.

This is a game I want to love, as it take alot of elements from one of my favorite games HOMM3, and smoothly includes them in a classic rpg with Fable feels.

Sadly there's a fair bit of cringe in this game, and I hope to see it developed further over the next year, before i'd even consider purchasing it at 75% off.

As an FYI, HOMM1 was a psuedo-sequel to Kings Bounty.

We were expecting turn-based tactical fights in KB style, but received Slo-Mo version of Witcher 3 :-/
