I found a neat little site while trying to craft a badge the other day (was reading through trade threads to see if anyone had what I needed).

http://www.steamtradematcher.com/ will scan your inventory and pick out cards that you have doubles of, then match you with another user who has used the service, needs the card(s) you have doubles of, and also has doubles of a card from that set which you are missing. It also does the same thing for emoticons and backgrounds, just in case you craft the same thing twice. Then you can send a trade offer.

I'm not sure if it's been shown here before, but due to the fact that it didn't match some of my card duplicates with any of the users in its database, I figure not enough people are using the service yet. So I figured maybe some of you guys would be interested.

I assume there are much more people on Steam Exchange Point.

Depends on what you want. Steamtradematcher is perfect and simple to trade dupes since it gets its information directly from your inventory while Steamep requires you to manually manage a list of cards you have and want for trade.
There are very few people who update their lists frequently, but since it isn't meant to be for trading duplicates they can not compete anyways.

Ah, I didn't know the second one was grabbing the info itself, that's a very interesting feature, managing the lists was tedious.

The worst is when I find someone who has the cards I need and the second I send an offer he/she doesn't have the card anymore.
Plus it takes most people forever to accept or decline a trade. All this considered I don't use it anymore.

Cool site, but requires manual input of haves/wants. I'm not really trading hard enough these days to want to manually update lists. It's a neat site though, and one I didn't know about so thanks for the info. :)

There are more, but STM is significantly better.
If more people would find and use it. But those who do really love it.

It's a commonly known site, but still worth posting if someone didn't know about it.

Alternative websites for trading are Steamcardexchange.net which let's you trade with a bot based on market values. The inventory depends on what people trade in so it doesn't always have the cards you need but it saves time on negotating with people and waiting for them to accept trades since the bot accepts or declines trades within a few seconds.

Or Steamep.com which lets you manage a custom [H]/[W] list so people can look up who has certain cards they need for cards others want. The profile has to be managed manually and most people don't update their lists frequently so it's the least useful of the 3 imo.

Steam trade matcher is awesome, you get rid of doubles quite quickly and the trades are 1:1 :D

And if someone sends you any other offer , you simply refuse, block and report the f0cker to SMT.

Great website indeed. I just wish Robou could find the time to further improve the performnace of a complete scan.

There are at least 2 bots registered, that allow for almost instant 1:1 trades:
