Is that even out yet?
I dunno, I might pick up a Pokemon game. Haven't played since Pokemon Blue (old school, bitches!) but they're a fun way to waste some time.

Tales of the Abyss, you're not alone with Monster hunter (the main reason I got my 3DS XL) :P

I've been considering Tales of the Abyss, but I've been told it's kind of meh and the main reason people like it is because there's nothing better out yet.

Well have you played the Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate demo yet :P that's fun as hell for a day.

People saying about Pokemon, they're on about games which are out...

Believe me, I know. ;_;
I'm a fan of SMT, but it seems the games like to take their sweet time getting here.

Seconded on Zelda. If you're any type of gamer, that's a required game for you to own.

Putting aside such retarded statements, I already played the original game and I'm not really feeling the need to buy the 3DS port.

Whoa, no need to be so aggressive. I'll just take my retarded statements elsewhere then, good day.

Devil Survivor and Devil Summoner are two different games. :P
Comment has been collapsed.
Nope.
Devil Summoner and Devil Survivor are two different spin-offs.
Devil Survivor is the sRPG series, while the first two Devil Summoner games were dungeon crawlers (similar to the first two Shin Megami Tensei games) and the latter two (Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs.) were aRPGs.
Also you always summon demons in SMT games.

I saw a few pics about Pokemon X + Y ... well... I don't like the view while are you running around. :|

I'm kind of wondering the same thing myself... but I'm not getting the 3DS for myself, it'll be for my boyfriend. He really enjoys RPG's and platformers so I know I'm getting him Paper Mario.
I've felt very depressed lately and seeing people's reactions when they get a gift cheers me up.

Thank you for the advice mang :) I think that's right up his alley. Earthbound, Super Mario RPG and Chrono Trigger are games he is always talking about.
I have to work 47 hours this coming week so it'll probably be soon.

I got pilotwings but not a big fan of it and i bought Zelda. Zelda is a must have classic game. Now i have my eyes on Code of Princess, Harvest moon, Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D, and Pokemon X and Y

I would choose a NINTENDO 3DS. I wouldn't trust those ripoff consoles by those Chinese companies.
Seriously though, the only two games I have are Virtue's Last Reward and Devil Survivor Overclocked (I'm surprised this one hasn't been released in EU yet o.o). Both are very good games. Devil Survivor and 999 were my two favorite games on DS, so it makes sense, I guess :P
Comment has been collapsed.
Not sure what you mean by that first line.
And yeah I really want Devil Survivor Overclocked since I loved the original Devil Survivor, but it's not out yet in Europe because Fatlus hates me.

He's just poking some fun at you, since your thread topic just says "3DS recommendations" instead of something like "3DS Games Recommendations".

I figured my intention was fairly obvious, but I changed the title to avoid confusion/lame jokes.

Yes, I'm quite aware the Overclocked is just an update to the original, and yes I am also aware of DS2.
Doesn't change the fact that I want to buy Overclocked though.

I put probably 60 hours into Devil Survivor. I'm currently playing Overclocked, in at around 40 hours.

I'm not really interested in either of those franchises, so I doubt the crossover will be very enjoyable for me.

The upcoming Phoenix wright game, upcoming Pokemon, Kid Icarus and Metal Gear.

That's very helpful, thank you.
Unfortunately, my mind has already been made up. The only question is whether to buy one now, or wait until the games I really want become available in Yurop.

I replied before the edit, and was being just a little bit sarcastic. :P
But yeah I know where you're coming from. I was all hyped for some of the titles I knew were coming out and then got disappointed to find out that I can't even buy them yet.

Kid Icarus: Uprising and Resident Evil: Revelations are quite good.
You might also want to pick up Project X Zone when that's released, looks quite interesting ^^

Resident Evil: Revelations and Samurai Warriors Chronicles
And in eShop there's Pullblox and Fallblox

Steel Diver was quite enjoyable, and Tetris 3D is really fun too.
Zelda OoT3D is one of the best games out there, and Kingdom Hearts DDD is fun if you're into crazy much going on at the same time.
Also, Pokemon Conquest for the original DS is quite new and keeps me busy very well! It's Pokémon, but a little more mature.

Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward. It's a mixture of a puzzle game and a visual novel, and it's got an utterly mind-blowing plot. It was my favorite game of 2012. I'd recommend playing the previous game in the series "9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors" first, though. And unfortunately, 999 was only released in America and Japan, but it's a DS game, and those are region free, which makes it relatively easy to import. I've played some Japanese DS games on my 3DS, and they all worked.

Streetpass Quest! XD it's probably my most played title, while I wait for more first party games to come out. It's so addictive XD. If you're after fancy stationary for Swap Note/ Letterbox head over to my thread here and let me know too http://www.steamgifts.com/forum/8OjI2/

And give all the demos on the eShop a spin, you mind find something you like that way :)

So I got a new job a while ago and decided I'd use my first paycheck to treat myself to a Nintendo 3DS XL. Thing is, the few games I really want for it (Monster Hunter 3, Fire Emblem Awakening, Devil Survivor Overclocked) aren't out yet (in Europe anyway), and I'm not sure if any of the other games out right now are worth buying. I'm not the least bit interested in any of the Mario games and a bit of casual browsing tells me that there's a whole bunch of shovelware already out, but there's nothing that really catches my eye.
So, to anyone who already has a 3DS, what are some good games to get with it? If there's nothing good available right now I'll just wait until MH3 and FEA are available over here.
