I was in the cinema starting night for Fellowship and ranting about "The left out Tom Bombadil"...
Now I can enjoy the movies :)

Equilibrium, Sean Bean
It's a cute, under-appreciated dystopian sci-fi film. It's far from perfect, but I like it
Spoiler: Sean Bean dies

The Departed Mark Wahlberg
Btw, not so far ago I discovered that it was a remake of less known korean or chinese movie :) I don't remember for sure now.

Everytime I read or hear "Matt Damon", I remember Team America.

Me too (I had to keep myself from laughing when watching Interstellar at the theater). I thought of posting that movie instead, but iMDb didn't say he was in it

I have not watched Interstellar yet. I am a physicist and worked in astronomy for a while. Interstellar was promoted with something like "realistic display of black hole physics". Everytime I watch (read) something that tries to include a "realistic display of physics" and fails, I am not able to enjoy the movie (book).
I have no problem with movies that are not trying to be realistic. E.g. I don't mind the sounds in space in Star Wars.
Comment has been collapsed.
It's realistic to a degree, but it's filled with nonsense. For example, while it "realistically" shows how time would work on a planet that's very close to a black hole, it ignores the fact that this planet would never be able to exist so close to a black hole in the first place.
Don't go into it looking for realism, watch it for the story and the cinematic value, and take whatever real physics they got in there as a bonus.

That is my problem. I am no longer able to do that. I see physics (and to a certain degree math) everywhere ...

Saving Private Ryan - Vin Diesel
Well pretty sure all of us already watch this xD
Comment has been collapsed.
I saw it two times and I was and am quite startle how my reaction changed.
First time I was ~16 years old and was kind of shocked by the landing scene.
Second time was 7-10 years later and it was just another scene with gore.

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back Carrie Fisher
I enjoyed the movie at its release quite a lot. I still think it is a great collection of memes and tropes.

Is the movie any good? I saw the posters when it was released but never heard anything about it from friends or family.
Comment has been collapsed.
That's hard to answer. It really depends on what kind of movies you like. Have you seen other comedies with Will Ferrell? Did you like those movies? Ever see Anchorman, A Night at the Roxbury, Zoolander, Old School, Elf, Talladega Nights?
I personally thought it was funny and I enjoyed it, but I enjoy this type of comedy sometimes. I know a lot of people are turned off by it.

With the movies you listed, I will avoid Step brothers. ty

The Salton Sea - Val Kilmer
This has been on my list of movies to watch for a long time, but I haven't got around to it yet. Heard it is a good movie.

Seven Years in Tibet - DB Wong
Because I need to rewatch this since I remember absolutely nothing from the movie even if I have definitely seen it before.

The Exorcism of Emily Rose - Duncan Fraser
Cause we need to raise the quality of the movies here :P

Deliver us from evil - It was the last exorcism movie that I liked watching.
Actually I'm quite surprised that only 42% liked it, I loved the whole police drama first half and the supernatural thriller on the second half :(

That was one time long ago...
Plus I made a lot of legit giveaways after that.

That's funny, I saw The Exorcism of Emily Rose post and I replied to it with The Truman Show - Laura Linney, but then I realized you already replied to that post with this movie. Then I realized all I had to do was change the name to Jim Carrey, lol.

So I've tried something in a GA [ended!]:
A movie chain.
How does it work?
You have to name a movie that shares one or more cast members with the movie posted above you.
E.g.:
Léon: The Professional and The Fifth Element, because Garry Oldman stared in both.
Yirg pointed out, it would be nice if you include a reason why you choose the movie or give your opinion on it.
So taking above example, the first post would be
the second post could be
The idea is kind of based on Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon and the Oracle of Bacon.
Clarification:
Now the chain as seen in the GA's comments. I omitted some posts that were off topic or had wrong movie links, hope no one minds. the idea to include reasons/opinions was not present for that chain:
I am too lazy to include links to each user/movie, please visit the GA for clickies
I you can not enter the GA, due to BL, please contact me on Steam, if you think it is unjustified. Please keep this thread clean.
