Oh no worries, Peach didn't pass away or anything, we only had her for a year and then we moved around a lot so my wife's sister took her in for a while and grew so attached that she kept her. ^_^ we still see her all the time!

I was going to suggest Yin and Yang, but since you want video game related, I'll suggest Bakuya and Kanshou, named for the twin blades [conveniently white and black respectively] from TypeMoon's Fate/Stay Night series.
