Grew up with Windows 98 :D Then Windows xp Now Windows 7. I like them all but would have to say Xp as i used it for the longest time.

Windows 8 >> Win7/Vista, rest are nowhere near as useful and while they match Win in 1-2 fields, Windows can do them all so why bother?

Linux -> Mint 14

With new games coming for it every day, Linux is starting to be the best in EVERYTHING. I would then say Arch Linux for advanced users and Ubuntu for everyone else.

Linux, however I do have Windows since I can't play like 90% of all my games on Linux.

It all depends on what your doing. Here is my opinion.

For everyday use: Windows 7 hands down. Dependable, user friendly, good.

For programing/servers/OLD systems: Linux. Small, some versions are user friendly/fast/great for servers and programing especially.

For graphic design, video editing, and music production: Mac with IOS.
