Common knowledge isn't shouted out in the middle of an unrelated discussion though. Mentioning something off topic during a discussion may cause the adverse party to assume it was part of the debate regarding the current topic at hand, and is not proper behavior in this very case. We can therefore assume you were wrongly accusing Valve for a mistake in which Valve did not take part and, when pointed out by yours truly, attempted an evasion of responsibility for your mistakes by slipping the topic towards an unrelated subject, will still however excusing your mistake by disguising it into a general statement.
You are also immediately assuming that I am the sexiest dragon around without proof of your claim, obviously another one of your tricks at confusing and deceiving all parties involved in the discussion, and therefore allowing you to claim an easy victory. But you're wrong. You forgot that you are dealing with a veteran keyboard warrior, I'll have you know I fought battles on Reddit, 9gag, Facebook, Twitter, and even the depths of 4chan discussion boards. Your first mistake was lying and denying the truth to me, and your second mistake will be trying to find a comeback to my incredible intellect.

also, since "Stupid Steam" can relate to general knowledge, which i mostly pointed out, to make it easier on your small dragon brain.
it can also mean, that they are stupid in this case. why even let a game be on the store with an option for 17 years release date?
if the game can't be ready in a year (ok, 2 if you must) then don't make a store page for it. or, in other words, steam should limit the date they allow for release date.

But the thing is, Steam wasn't stupid in this case since the developers are in control of their own store page. So what you're saying is that you just pointed out the obvious (generalized idea) that Valve is stupid out of nowhere, expecting me to ignore that? but steam was stupid. as a big and dignified organization that allows a large number of transactions to happen they should limit the developer for something that make sense. can't just let him post a game with 17 years in the future. Gaben might lose control of Valve to Microsoft by then.
