dont think this could be done by bots, especially when steam blocks too many activations, and even then the games are then bound to the activated account. the only win by doing this would be by selling those accounts at the black market.

this keys where most likely already activated before posting and the owner didnt know it for sure.

if the owner is sure that they where unactivated, then the botnet farmer idea is true. in this case, i wish SG would implement a new formatting option for hidden content with captcha support like the google one...

wouldnt bet on that, bots everywhere.
and well, there is still the option to "mask" the keys, replacing a single character with a questionmark or something to avoid abuse by bots but i guess the author of the posts isnt giving a f**k about that, too bad.

i bet you can make sort of RSS feed for that thread, then send keys formatted like AAAAA-BBBBB-CCCCC straight to bot who would send it to steam, attempting to activate them.
