SANYO or COBY or Sceptre are the ones I am thinking about.
Or are they all bad and none?
So anyone have any experience with either of these?
They are in my budget to buy, but are the same price and have pretty much the same features. (Same size and both 1080p.)

What are good brands? What are brands I should avoid?

All feedback would be nice. <3

Thanks for the help.

if you watch tv using a cable box or satellite box go with a gaming monitor with multiple HDMI in's the ASUS VG248QE Black 24" 144Hz 1ms (GTG) HDMI Widescreen LED Backlight LCD 3D Monitor Height&pivot adjustable 350 cd/m2 80,000,000:1 Built-in Speakers is a good choice on newegg.com it is $304.58 with the cost of shipping. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236313&IsVirtualParent=1

There aren't other options reasonably more expensive where you live?

I'm sorry, but I don't know any of those and specs don't say much at all to me. I recommend you to try and see them in real life before you make a choice.

+1 also you should consider Sony and Samsung TVs and don't buy plasma TVs they tend to have a short life unless you gonna buy one of the new plasma TVs as they have a much longer life.

I only know Sanyo from these, we used to have it ages ago (long before flat-screens). And their appliances were ok quality at that time. So only brand-wise I'd choose that one really. But as people above said, better go have a look at the real thing before purchase.

You would be better off posting your budget and links to the three models than just naming two off-brand American companies and a defunct Japanese tech firm, IMHO.

I vote for a Panasonic Plasma!

Oh yes! Excellent choice! Everyone in the shops was saying: don't go plasma. Everyone on the web said: go plasma if you want to watch movies in the best possible way. I'm glad I listened, because it totally blows the LCD/LED stuff out of the water. And plasma is cheaper too. Win-win.

I'm all for Samsung, got one LED and a regular TV and also PC monitor. They are not among the cheapest though, but they usually have great image quality. You didn't specify how much money are you willing to spend nor the screen size you're looking for, but if you've got cash and need a 32" screen then go for Samsung UE32D5000 (LED screen, great contrast and vibrant colors, 60Hz with a software option to simulate 100Hz, very fast response rate so it's perfect for gaming, plus it looks sleek as fuck).
All in all, I personally wouldn't go for either Sanyo or Coby but if you're looking for a cheap TV with basic options (no LAN streaming or similar crazy stuff), those are probably good enough options. Be sure to compare image quality to other TV sets, especially if the store isn't happy about refunding your purchase if you're unhappy with the TV.

When it comes to TVs I always suggest to go to a store and look at them. Then ask someone to try the remote and see how responsive they are. (<- my gf though I was joking, now she's stuck with a TV with a 3-second delay on channel swap)

Never heard of either of those brands. I'm not much of a TV freak but common brands are Panasonic, Sony (the new Bravia series) and Sharp.

If you have LG in your country, go for it.I don't know any of those brands you wrote but LG is the best in my country.

As far as TV is (that is watching you know, movies,tv shows ,news) the samsung ones are really good and full of features.
If you want it for a console or to use it for a pc,just get any monitor with a fast enough refresh rate(LG does really good monitors). My advice is DO NOT get a tv if you will use it only for games,as usually monitors are cheaper, and usually better/faster.Also tv are more expensive (due to the tv tuner, menu features etc..)

EDIT: from your list I would say SANYO as I had one and it was ok,but can't say I would usually recommend it.

i prefer Panasonic, I literally spent hours in bestbuy and came to the conclusion that the 300 dollar Panasonic looked better then the ones costing 700+.

This is the one I got.

Might only be 720p but looks better then any of my friends more expensive 1080p's(and the one that cost a grand in my living room) and much more vibrant, I am a crazy person when it comes to quality also....so maybe they made a new version of this one? Seems like its hard to find now.

If your looking for quality the top brands are SAMSUNG,SONY,LG hands down,Although they might be a little on the pricey side your getting far better quality than their cheap quality competitors (VIZIO,COBY,SANYO etc.)
Also a good idea as mentioned is to go the store, look at the Tv's on display and write down their model# (UE32D5000 for exp)
then you can go to a reliable review site like cnet.com and see what the pro's and cons of the TV model you liked.
