Folding@Home

It's the first I've heard of it, but it sounds interesting. I'll look into it thanks :)

It does have some fun to it. I happen to be in a group that folds together and we win prizes at times. So it can be very rewarding.

Used to join a project many years ago when I was a kid until it ended. Haven't joined any since. Especially due to the downside of having a loud fan running all the time etc.

I'm going to resurrect this thread because of coronavirus...

i had no idea this was still a thing. i remember running the app back when i was a teenager.

I've been folding for a week now. Finally I've something that fully utilizes my processor. I've never crossed more than 30% until now but I think I need to clean my build, reapply thermal paste.
The temperature goes to 85-90°C when CPU is fully utilizes, and I don't think that's too good.

Rosetta@home is also distributing COVID 19 research tasks.

I've joined the boat a few days ago,it's a good use of my gamer GPU. For those who are looking for a FAH team to join, I found one named "steam powered" :-)
