Hey there, I've just solved one of the jigidis - just to find out that I'm blacklisted by you. I wasn't last Christmas and a while after, so I'm wondering what happened and if there's anything I can do about it?

It wasn't actually until a few days ago, when you used the word cancerous for your thread, call that a peeve of me, that i don't like people to throw a disease around like that, but that got my attention that i looked at your giveaway history here, and the biggest issue was also for me how many of your giveaways been very restricted for a long time.
But more so in your group/whitelist ones are usually no more then 10 entries, sometimes even 1, and then it's a circle jerk, and well unless you can give a very good explanation for that?
Call it weird though but i somehow knew you would be the one that would ask me about it.

First of all: Call it weird but you were one of the last I had ever expected to blacklist me... hence me asking you for the reason. Other than that I even turned off the blacklist entries in the stats with ESGST as I typically don't care about it. As I've said, I've noticed because I've solved your puzzle 2 minutes before your giveaway ended for a game that's on my wishlist.
As for my giveaways: There's a few groups I'm personally invested because some of their members are friends of mine and these groups are made of mostly generous people who enjoy sharing with other people who enjoy sharing themselves (instead of being a leech). It's groups that make an effort to not add leeches or bots. Therefore I prefer to give away my keys to where I feel they are actually appreciated rather than for the general public.
As for my whitelist and entry numbers: My whitelist is less than 50 people - I'm selective with who I'm putting on it. And I try to include my WL to as many of my GAs as possible. Said groups, my WL and if you can't afford to give away triple A games but rather bundled games of bundles many other people are buying as well, people of whom many already own 2000 and more games and you end up with relatively low entry numbers. It's as simple as that. Call it circle jerk if you want - it's not what I'd define as one.
Despite of my concerns and bad experiences with public giveaways I gave away 129 games with only very small hurdles to enter via SGTools not too long ago (adding to the hundreds of others that went towards huge groups and the public).
As for my choice of wording: Believe it or not, that's the first time I've used the word in any other context than the disease (as I suffer from several severe diseases myself). But I would do it again when looking for the best way to describe an advertising that's harmful to anyone who's getting it displayed, an advertising which goal it is to scam or phish (or both) whoever falls for it, an "advertisement" that forces itself on you and pushes you off the page your on to another one without the ability to go back (actually blocking you from going back). Sure, ads are necessary for a page like this but the word cancerous is indeed quite suitable for an ad like that specific one, in my opinion.
I'm not asking to get removed from your blacklist - leave me on it or take me off of it... however you like. I chose to explain to you why things are as they are because I always enjoyed your puzzles (although never winning). Now one could say that my SG stats usually speak for themselves when it comes to not getting backlisted for the giveaways that I make but I won't go try to "give a very good explanation" why I should not be on your blacklist... everyone decides for themselves who to put on it. I was just curious why of all I'd end up yours. No I know. Happy holidays.
EDIT: Oh, as for the GAs that only have 1 entry? I can only assume that those are the ones that are still running for almost 2 more weeks (about 75 GAs). Other than that I can't think of any that ended with just 1 entry as I always try to add enough groups to get at least 5 entries... if it wasn't a mass giveaway key already when I gave it away (which most of them were not). So it seems kinda odd to me that you brought that one up.

Okay maybe i didn't saw those were still running, but previous ones that ended still resulted in 1 (sparkle evo 2, and another with 2 entries) 1 or 20 entries i still don't think there is much difference and thus my point (or opinion) remains valid over it, over a period of 6 months so that makes me believe this will be the only way you are still going to gift.
Your whitelist seemingly isn't that big in that it increases your entries by much, and no even if i would have been on your whitelist i would not enter because that would make me the hypocrit.
There have been several people in the past who did this to farm cv, and i am not gonna accuse you of anything, if you got your reasons so be it, and i don't even mind some selected gifting, if those people would also still continue to do public giveaways, but you haven't done so for a good 6 months (aside from some crap dlc), and with that i would find anyone's stats that you given more then you won, a bit meaningless.
It's one of three reasons (which been mentioned on my steam profile for over 3 years) that i could sometimes blacklist someone over it.
We all know how problematic public giveaways can be, i had them myself, but usually that happens at level 0-1, and you either take that gamble sometimes, or put them on level 2 or higher that already decreases problems alot, we all started as a newcomer here, and not every new person is a bad one, if we all closed down our giveaways it would create a very elite thing.
I will remove you, i don't think you are a bad guy, we differ on opinion but i am starting to feel this whole blacklist thing becomes a bit trivial too at time, also my "rule 2" has become redundant too for some time now, when people can't enter my giveaways anyway if they got me blacklisted.

Indeed, my whitelist does not add as many extra entries as I would hope for... which is why I'm playing with the thought of completely overhauling it - whenever I get to it and have found a good way on how to approach it.
Well, obviously farming CV isn't it - otherwise I'd be very bad at it, considering for how long I'm already crawling around at the decimals I'm at. As I've said, for me I rather not use too much gift filtering with public giveaways and prefer giving away without any filters but instead towards what I see as good groups. Same goes for the BL - I rather not make use of it and rarely have to... but here too I rather chose to circumvent the issues by giving away in trusted groups.
You are right, I could do at least a few more public giveaways... and there for sure will be for bundles and games that I have left over, sometime, when I find the time sorting through/cleaning up my list. And yes, our opinions on specifics differ a bit - but of course I can see where you're coming from.
I've just now took a look at your profile and read the part you've mentioned - seems reasonable. Anyways, I appreciate being able to keep on puzzling with the additional motivation of being able to possibly enter a GA.

Well not wanting you to miss it, i will say it will be on the 25th, and that will be the most crowded day with 10 giveaways (but i will post those 2 days ahead).

Welcome to the third Lugum's Daily Jigidi Advent Event, it's that time of the year again.
Some sad things near the end of this year, like people (almost) leaving over group advertising, tremorgames that got closed down (i got like thousands of games through there both for myself and gifts), and well even the Aussies got their own stuff going on.
All in all this could also affect this site in the end when it comes to gifts being available, and i haven't seen much recruiting for advent events so far, but i really hope some would also still come up with some events to make this month a nice peaceful one, where we be more active together with puzzles and what not.
So as to the event, each day for the whole month of december, i will post jigidi's for the upcoming day, so for Day of 1 of december, it's start Nov 30 23:59 and will last till Dec 1 23:59 (GMT+1, amsterdam time), and so on. The majority will be 1 game for 1 puzzle, though who knows maybe there are some surprises in between. There will be a few special days in which i post giveaways 2 days ahead.
I tried to keep everyone in mind from jigidi haters to lovers, so pieces will range from 99 to some in the 360 pieces, i have not always just looked at the "quality" of the games, as to keep everyone a fair chance on giving them a chance on winning something nice
There will be no level requirements, there will be no sgtools checks to keep it open to as many possible, as to blacklists i will mention the donators names and up to yourself to check, if no name is mentioned that it's run through me and you can ask about blacklists done by me, but if you got blacklisted by others please keep it out of the event since it's not up to me.
Since i am only human and the amount of donations been alot more through other people this year, i could have made a mistake somewhere, if so by all means let me know so i can try to fix things.
Please give a big thanks to all the donators, there are too many too mention but the names you can find behind the giveaways i will be posting, except for Seretti and Superfabs that donated seperately.
