My Steam birthdate is November 13, 2003. Interestingly, I registered the original Half-Life before Steam was actually a thing, so when Steam launched and I created an account, my registered copy from years earlier already appeared in my account!

I created my account on september 12th, 2003! 11 years strong! :D (1st badge on my profile)
My first games were Half-Life Platinum Pack and Half-life 2 retail collectors edition. ^_^
And before that I played Counter-Strike since beta 5.2 at a local lan cafe back in the day.. :) Awesome times with 8 vs 8 tournaments.
In fact I'm still playing Counter-Strike beta 6.1 every friday night. Non-steam of course. :) Don't want to spam, but we are always looking for more players! We have a facebook group. The name is "csbeta6" -spam mode off. :)
Thanks for the giveaway!!

I'm only at 5 years. i remember back in 2009, since i used to exclusively play on my xbox (RIP Black Box. You will be missed.) i didn't have much knowledge of what it needed to play games on PC. Went to a local game store, bought Dark Sector and then i found out i needed a steam account.

In terms of the quantity of games on steam, the last 3 probably do have as many as at least the 6 years prior if not even further.

I left my steam account too, for 3-4 years in and out because of World of Warcraft (damn addiction). But nothing was interesting after hl2 until Team Fortress 2 for me.

December 30, 2003. Weird, must've been bored that Christmas/New Year's Eve week. That year was also my first time in college.

Only 4 years on my first account. April 22nd, 2010.
My ex wanted me to have one, was basically the thing. He bought me a few things to play with him, and that was it. I never bought anything for it.
Current account is only 1 year - April 20th, 2013. Just wanted a new one. :)

Same year - I joined 1 January, 2010 because they were giving away Torchlight for free for new sign-ups. Also got Portal and Portal 2 for free, probably in summer/winter sale promotions, but ended up buying a 4-pack of Torchlight 2 in the last sale, so I guess it was worth it for them after all!

Hmm.. Even my extra account 'Reserve' I created on september 12th, 2003.. lol..
I had another "Half-Life Platinum Pack" copy back then.. ;)
After that came "ATI Half-Life 2: Deathmatch / Half-Life 2: Lost Coast Promo" for free.
Since maybe like 2 years I'm collecting promo's and free games on this account for my kids.
So they will be able to play a lot of games in a few years. :)

Yes same here, a few years back started a secondary account to allow my nephew to play when he visited and bought a few games, and when he got his own account a few years back decided to just set it up to allow my kids to play when they get old enough.

First account was in 2004 when HL2 launched. Second one is this one created in 2009. I lost my first 2004 account.

11 Years. (September 20, 2003)
Migrated to Steam since Won.net servers would shutdown. At that time, i used to play a lot of Team Fortress Classic and Day of Defeat.
But i stayed away from PC games from 2005 to 2011, because of college, work and other stuff. It wasn't until 2012 that i got back into PC gaming.

all of these have the half - life platinum package ( i hope its called like that ) , i had 3 half life keys back then and i used them all to create steam accounts, because they gave you a free half life platinum package for joining steam and redeeming one of your cd keys :P

I want to meet the olders of steam :P
Mine starts the release date of Half-life 2 back in 2004, that time i bought an ATI GPU and inside i found a card with a code that forced me to create a steam account, i said WTF is that, to play a game you need to open that crap?
Anyway that code was a good deal at the time, i got for free all the valve games (Half-life, H-L: Blue Shift, H:L: Opposing Force, Half-life 2, HL2 Deathmatch, Day of Defeat, Team Fortress Classic, Counter-Strike, Ricochet, Deathmatch Classic and maybe CS:S i don't remember. Only those games was available on steam back in 2004.
Giveaway: I have one spare Contraption maker gift and i'm willing to give it to the person with the highest years of service badge who replied here the next 4 hours. I add the winner after to give the game. Thanks.
NOTE: I will check the birthdate on the badge for the obvious winner. if there more then 1 with the same date i will check the steam id digits and if im correctly the digits count upwards.
EDIT: We had 3 people with the same date 12/09/2003 (which is the creation/start of the steam service) so i made my choice based on steam ID.
EDIT: Giveaway Ended, Winner added and gift received!
Thanks everyone!
