Gmod HL2.exe keeps crashing on me in start up? AFTER UPDATE?

I'm seriously fucking sick of this.

It updates.

It stops working after that.

Same problem. I was playing last night without a problem. Damn.

Gmod is confirmed broken for Windows 7 64 bit editions.. This is due to the update which had to fix the mac and linux versions. Unfortunately, it is now 1am British time, which is where Garry is, so there's no chance this is getting fixed until tomorrow at the very earliest.

r.click on your computer -> properties -> system protection -> advanced -> click on "settings" in performance section -> Data Execution Protection -> add hl2.exe

edit:

• Start Garry's Mod
• Don't close "hl2.exe has stopped working" window
• Start Garry's Mod again

click the gmod game in library once
hold enter
eventually will work
