How long is the default waiting period for someone to claim their gift

I had my second giveaway (first one went flawlessly) and it ended, i sent the gift to winner but i have not heard from him in 2 days. He is not redeemed the gift nor applied it to here on SteamGifts. How long should i wait and after the wait perioud what then? Sorry if this is often asked question, i tried to search the forums and support.
