Hello, sir Nudius. I am a representative of the F.I.S.T.I.N.G. Corporation (FIrst poST INternational Guidelines). As you are probably aware of, we do mantain the order and meaning (or lack of) in First Posts all over the globe, assuring everyone gets a minimal standard of quality in First Posts everywhere.
It is my unhappy duty to inform you that your first post does not meet the basic standards displayed under Section 001a of the Annals which compile the Digital Introduction Act of 1969. As so, you are liable to pay fines and fees associated to your reason-less (in your own admission) first post. First posting is not to be done without the due care, and it is not free, as you should be well aware of.
I am providing this notice in good faith and with the reasonable belief that guidelines my company enforces are being infringed. Under penalty of perjury I certify that the information contained in the notification is both true and accurate, and I have the authority to act on behalf of F.I.S.T.I.N.G. Corp. Of course, if you modify or eliminate the offending content of your post, we will immediately withdraw our complaint.
Rest assured we are willing to maintain communication in case you need further assistance about the guidelines mentioned above (under service fees, of course). If you desire to contract our company in order to avoid further misdemeanors, we are sure you will be able to experience the best experience F.I.S.T.I.N.G. can offer. Who knows, you might enjoy it!
Have a good day,

Too many periods in the signature - if the original is made up of four words (FIrst poST INternational Guidelines) then it should be FI.ST.IN.G., or FiStInG, as the original implies that each letter is a shortening of an individual word.
please, improve on your "F.I.S.T.I.N.G."

Nice! I have quite a few things in my wishlist that I'd love to win ;-)

You'd think so, but to be a suitable entry token, the game also has to be cheap, good (or at least not terrible) and not owned by most people. I will say it feels like it's getting easier.

Hmmm. Added Combat Racoon to my wish list. I LOVE a decent platformer and it does pique my curiosity.

🍀 Heh, I always thought it's good to be very picky with my wishlist, but today, you have proved that it's actually a bad thing. ;_; I don't even add games in my wishlist that I'm not 100% sure that I'll like (for example, I wanted for a long time to get Ankh 2 and Ankh 3, but I'm not 100% sure if I'll like them, so I haven't added them in my wishlist). Meh, anyway, what a bummer! xD Thanks for doing this and good luck to the participants (they're gonna need it). 🍀

Soooo.... how can you be 100% sure you'll like games that nobody's even had a chance to play yet?

Good question - very good one. :P I have played the previous ones that belong in their franchises (I'm talking specifically about the ones that belong in franchises). :P Also, there are pre-release gameplay videos about them anyway. My wishlist always mostly consists of pre-order games. xD

I've had a few "they can't possibly screw this up, it's like printing money" experiences where the sequels definitely weren't as good as the earlier installments (or brand new games made by teams/developers I had good experiences with). And I've seen way too many folks get hyped and burned on other stuff. If I see a game that looks interesting but isn't out yet, I'll put it on the follow list instead of the wishlist.
Not saying you should be doing that, you should probably just be less conservative with your wishlist. :-) I put games on there that I'll very probably like, even if I'm not sure. I mean, what's the worst that could happen, winning it in a GA somewhere and finding out it wasn't exactly what I hoped for anyway? I can handle that. As long as you're not one of those people who wishlists everything on Steam just because you can, it'll serve it's purpose.

A wishlist is about games that you wish to get, not about games that you wish to win. My steam wishlist isn't related to steamgifts. If my wishlist is small, getting these games is something achievable and enjoying these games is something quite probable. If I had many games in my wishlist, it would be quite hard to acquire them all, and the probability that I would enjoy them, would decrease a lot. I don't want to spend money for the Ankh sequels or the Mafia 3 season pass and end up finding out that these games suck. Even though I want to get them, their reviews are somewhat bad, so I don't want to flush my money down the toilet.

My wishlist isn't about SG either -- my point is that if I want a game, it doesn't matter if I'm winning it or buying it. (And I'm stingy with both time and money, so I only buy games if they're on a sale and my backlog isn't too big -- meaning I don't buy a whole lot.) So the worst that could happen is winning something when I didn't have any immediate desire to play it, is what I meant to say.
It's unlikely I'll ever own every game on my wishlist, but at the same time I wouldn't mind if somehow I did. Playing them all would just be a considerable effort. (But a doable one, I did it for most games I already own.)

The name and the comment check out, but your profile still isn't as cat obsessed as it could be.

It's not based on that, though. And as far as I can tell from the card's effect, it isn't based on the same golden apple mine's based on either.

It's the Golden Apple of Discord. Hail Eris.
The Yu-Gi-Oh apples seem to be based on the golden apples in the garden of the Hesperides, which conveyed immortality. (The "Malus Token" it summons is a reference to another apple-based myth, of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.)

I see, that was enlightening. Thanks for the info!
I am reading about Discordianism now

Well, I just happened to take a look at the Wikipedia article for the first time, and it's a mess. I'm sorry for any confusion it might pretend to clear up. I assure you it's much less coherent in real life.

I wouldn't expect chaos/entropy to be coherent, it is ok.

Last time I did a wishlist GA, a certain someone couldn't participate because they already owned Cats are Liquid, the game I carefully selected to be owned by almost nobody. I won't call out that person, except to say they have the most cat-obsessed profile on Steam, and own every game related in any way to cats in their massive, 6000+ games collection and holy crap will you stop with the cats already?
Because I like a challenge, this time, as promised, the game to enter for is a game not owned by the cat who has everything. It wasn't easy to find, but of the 473 people on my friends list (all SG users), nobody owns this. Let's go.
The winner of this giveaway will receive Combat Raccoon, but also one random game from their wishlist! The rules:
Read all that? Good, then I want you to do one thing to prove it, to prevent people who don't have awesome wishlists from blindly entering: add Combat Raccoon to your wishlist. And now you can enter the giveaway. If it doesn't let you enter, be sure to synchronize SGTools first, using Home -> Synchronize (this is not the same thing as syncing SteamGifts). For those people who are worried about keeping their wishlist clean: if you're not really interested in Combat Raccoon on its own, you can remove it from your wishlist immediately after entering; this will not invalidate your entry.
Here's to hoping I don't run into someone obsessed with raccoons instead of cats.
