Have you had any games (voluntarily) removed from your Steam account?

I've got about one third of my games "hidden" however I don't find that much useful, first of all after fresh OS install I found out the "hidden" tag is not saved online so I had to hide them all again and second of all I don't like using steam client much, I prefer being on steam website via browser and then you have to deal with all the crappy games because they're all displayed, I'd really love the option to permanently remove games from you library, since "hiding" option is not all that helpful

Very few people seem to get this, but I understand, OP. I actually haven't had to have any games removed yet but I hate having games I disliked sitting in my Steam library, it's like a smudge on a piece of white paper.

I've done it before where I asked them to remove some games and they did it, not too long ago asked again with like 10+ games to be removed and the reply was "the hidden" option. -_-

I wouldn't remove games even if I wanted to, it's free experience. Gotta get level 40 somehow.

I had Dota 2/Dota 2 Beta and Dead Island Epidemic removed. I fkin hate mobas...

That's nice to see that we're not the only ones caring about their library's quality! But there are still so many people who just prefer a "+1" over a new game...

Anyway, I've contacted the support 6 times now - planning to do another "removing batch" soonish. They're very nice and respond relatively quickly - either people expect them to answer back in the next hour or so or they send just a rant with no explanation whatsoever.

Here's my support page. Most of the games are games I bought when they were on sale, not many are from bundles (in italic). This the list:

• Sniper Ghost Warrior (1 & 2, with all DLCs): didn't like the gameplay
• EDGE
• F1 2012: I don't like games that come back every year
• Rush Bros.: I read it was a really bad game but I wanted to try it out (free promotion), turns out it is, lol...
• Sacred Citadel (+ DLC): meh...
• Q.U.B.E. (+ DLC): Director's Cut came out right after I began to play it, urgh...
• Anomaly Complete Pack: only wanted two of the four games
• Crysis 1 & 2, Dead Space 1 & 2, Dragon Age: Origins & Expansion: you probably guessed it, I don't like EA and their "Origin-only" politic and I prefer to not have a single game than to own only a half of a franchise...
• Woodle Tree Adventures: never played it but it didn't appeal to me (Why did I buy it? I don't know...)

Now comes the "fun" (read: silly) part:

• Metro 2033: I don't remember the reason I removed it but I've re-bought it (the original, not the Redux) some days ago with LL...
• Deus Ex: Human Revolution (+ DLCs): don't get me wrong, I love this game! But I heard that a Director's Cut version was going to come out so I removed it (even though I had played some hours). Director's Cut came out and I realised I liked the original version better... Of course, the game had been removed so I had to find a trader who still had a gift copy. I hate DCs! (not the comics, lol)

I know this was pretty dumb of me - but hey - I like to keep my library clean. :P

Just uninstall them! The games will stay in your library but won't take up space on your computer.

Another case you may want a game to be removed is about Deluxe versions or such...

If anyway you've got yourself a Standard version of the game previously,

• Some games provide Deluxe+ DLCs you can add later, which is good

• Some games provide nothing and prevent you buying the Deluxe version since you own the Standard one

For the latter case you have no option other than asking for removal prior to buying the Deluxe version

No. I can hide games by either hiding them or putting them into the "other indie stuff" category which I keep minimized.

how do you Hide games? I dont' see an option to do that? Is it only available in certain countries?

Once I deleted installed game but never ran it before and I returned the money for it, I bought the same game again - the Deluxe Edition.

Yup. One. Hitman Sniper Challenge. I got it from somewhere (forgot where form), activate it and played like 10 minutes and then the game closed saying it's region locked and cannot be played in my region :|
So I had to have it removed to be able to activate the key offered by Square-Enix.

What, were you running out of room on your virtual shelf? Hiding the games isn't enough?

But yeh, I guess wasting Steam Support's time with this is 100% valid. Not like they take forever to get back to people with legitimate issues due to a huge backlog of tickets or anything. Thanks for giving them something to do!

Did you atleast craft the cards first?That is kinda dick move,i mean its ok you will never play games taken from a massive giveaway,but why did you take em in the first place?

Personally i find it stupid all you really do is clog up the already slow support.

Have your removed games also disappeared from the "store transactions" page? I'm just asking because I recently added some stupid F2P games to gain additional XP (while it was working this want), but now I want to clear my purchase history.

Well, there was one game I asked Steam Support to remove - A Valley Without Wind. Dunno who here remembers the mess with a couple keys for that game (which were or were not illegitimate), given/traded away by some users I don't remember.
Well, I asked the devs if the key I got in a trade was legit or not but they weren't too sure. They were, however, really generous in giving me a legit one as an excuse for the mess. So I asked Steam Support to remove it (explained the situation), they did and I could activate the 100% legit key. :)

Nah. I'm a game collector/hoarder, and my list is too unruly to look at regardless. I pretty much just look for things by typing names at this point. To each their own though; I could understand liking a cleaner library I guess.

Also, I liked Woodle Tree. ;_;
