What's a thread without a poll?
Thankful bump for the train. Also would love to join the WL.
My favorite game of all time is Warcraft 3 (the OG one not the awful Reforged remake). Also while we are on the topic of monster girls, my favorite monster girl is Lamia because they give the tightest hug (and i just like snake).

OG Warcraft 3 is an awesome game.
I added a lamia in my game, btw, but now I wish I gave her a little more dialogue. I might have been overambitious with the number of characters, though, so I'll be keeping that in mind for the next project, haha.
Anyway, welcome to the whitelist and good luck in the giveaways! π

Pretty interesting project! I liked the description on steam page. And this long title is very cool. Hopefully the final polishing won't be too hard! (My first game is also due out in June, and the finishing touches are more like finishing blows).
Wishlisted the game! Good luck to you.
And yes, I definitely want to be on your whitelist. Both Bloodstained and Not for Broadcast are on my wishlist, and Katana Zero and Paradise Killer look like something I'd love to try. My (newest) favorite game is Disco Elysium, and I'm really nervous about all the problems that its creators are currently facing. I hope they overcome all the difficulties and return with new stories about that gorgeous world. I also love the Rusty Lake game series because of this david-lynchian mix of surrealism and symbolism, fun and grim.

Oh, I wasn't aware of the trouble the Disco Elysium devs are in... It's a shame things like this pop up so often in the industry. Hope they manage to pull through.
Also, thank you very much for having a look at my game and wishlisting it! I'm curious to see yours as well if you care to share. :)
I totally get the finishing blows part, hahaha. I feel like my game's been in its final month of development for over 3 months now.
You're on the whitelist, btw, of course. Good luck!

We have several game interests in common, so I'd appreciate being able to join your whitelist.
One of my favorites is Creeper World, a game that's hard to do justice to by merely describing it. It's sort of like an RTS / Tower Defense versus a liquid enemy. probably emotionless :)

i was supposed to but my nephew decided to hog my computer by watching youtube videos and i completely forgot when i managed to get back on until this morning!
Cheers for the WL and welcome to mine!

I'm really into racing games. Visual Novels are not my cup of tea to be honest. Nevertheless, good luck with your game ;)

Good luck with the launch of your game, gave it a wishlist to help you along!
I'd like to join your whitelist too if you'll have me! In another thread I recommended Prey because I love games in space, and Prey's space station is super convincing! (Minus the aliens on board, of course ;D)

Prey is fantastic! I've also been watching One Piece just a few hours ago for the second time, your profile pic reminded me of it. Just got through Marineford again... I feel like I must add you to my whitelist whatever happens. π
Thanks so much for the support, by the way!

Hello, my name is Ryzhehvost and I'm an emotionless giveaway seeking missile. I would like to end up in your white list. My favorite game is... Hell if I know. I liked so many games during lifetime. Well, I really like CrossCode, hopefully someday I'll finish it. It's awesome.
Thank you for the train, and good luck with your game sales!

Added it to my wishlist. Good luck with the launch! <3 And yeah joining your whitelist would be great. About favorite game.. its hard to choose one! But so far I really fall in love with Sekiro, if I could I'd travel back in time just to feel the emotions from defeating the bosses there. Fire game really. The next one is Elden Ring but with work its hard to have time for playing it but I'm sure its gonna be in my top.

Not my niche but i wishlisted to help. I love seeing passionate devs going heads on in the industry (bit of envy too, i flirted going that way but life threw me in other direction)- and heck we need it, between souless AAA, mobile cash grabs and asset flips you indies are the ones injecting heart and creativity.
And who knows, maybe i will enjoy some VN someday, i could be surprised. Thats what happened with one of my favorite games of all time- Subnautica... i hated and never looked twice at anything 'craft survival', decided to give it a shot on a whim to refund in the 2-hour window... and now i pretty much never uninstall it

Hmm... I remember some names from back when I lurked this forum more and yours is one of them. Not trying to make you feel old, I'm just surprised you weren't on my whitelist already. π You are now though.
And thank you so much for the wishlist, kind words and all the support! Your comment actually made me a little emotional, hahaha β although I guess that's not very cool to admit, so maybe instead I should say that I stoically nodded my head while reading it.

Yeah im getting old, and i think ive been here for like 10 years or so... i was more active back then then took a long hiatus.
But hey, if you remenber me from back then then youre getting old too so you can say that lol. I love how heart warming this community can be, so lets say ive stoically nodded my head reading your post too π
Best wishes on the game, btw do post again when you release- and dont rush things. Ive been in 2 gamejams going overnight because of deadline so i have some idea of how crunch feels and the kind of damage it can do. Take your time and all will be fine π

Yeah, honestly I've been looking forward to making a post here because the SG community had always been warm and welcoming ever since I registered. A sort of anomaly on the internet nowadays, lol.
I'll make sure to edit this post after the launch, as the rules specify only one showcase thread per game.
Thank you so much once again for the support and all the care! I know what you mean about crunching. Besides this project and my day to day job I've been burning the candle at both ends for some months now, unfortunately, but I look forward to things improving after the release. I'm not expecting this game to light the world on fire, of course. If it could just support another development period for a new game I'd be over the moon. π

Iβve added the game to my wish list. Iβm a big fan of anime in general, so I might check it out later. Currently, Iβm playing The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky bit by bit.
By the way, are there any plans to release the game on Linux? Iβm considering moving to Linux after Windows 10 hits EOS. Years ago, Wine gave me some sort of hiccup.
Back in college, I had a dream of becoming a game developer. Unfortunately, I never came up with a good story/idea, so the game was left unfinished. Itβs nostalgic when I meet people who make games. Good luck on your adventure!

Oh, I own that game too and it's been on my "to play" list for a while. I heard it's wonderfully written. :)
Thanks so much for wishlisting my game, by the way! I still haven't figured out how to port my game to Linux and other OSes, but I'll look into it. Only using Windows for years made me kind of blind to other gaming communities and I have to redress that.
Don't worry about ideas when it comes to games, as they are often overrated. Implementation makes 90% of the success equation, so many times a stupid idea implemented well is better than a great idea implemented poorly. I'd say it might not be too late to start working on your dream project. π

Game development has become more accessible with engines like Godot and generative AI.
In the past, I spent almost a whole semester coding my custom framework in SDL.
I learned many concepts from the book SDL Game Development by Shaun Mitchell, and still find them to be useful later in my career.
I also peeked into many open-source games like Angband, The Battle for Wesnoth, and KDE Games to help implement my game.
The first two are quite enjoyable if youβre into roguelike and strategy games like me.
Thank you for your kind words!
Looking forward to find the time to implement the last idea of my game soon.
I'd like to join your whitelist too if you'll have me!

Yeah, I agree with you, and it's getting more and more easier to get into game development, although making a game still remains a huge undertaking for one person, haha.
If you finish your game don't hesitate to leave a reply or something, I'd love to see it.
I think I added you to my WL last time, btw. :P

Hello, wonderful people of Steamgifts!
I've been collecting keys for the last years, wondering when to turn them into giveaways.
Now that I'm working on a game of my own, this sounded to me like a great excuse to give out some games, ask for some feedback and maybe even a little help overcoming some release related challenges.
The game is called 'Is It Wrong To Try To Rescue Monster Girls From The Inquisition?' and, as you can probably tell from the title, it's a silly spoof/comedy anime game about rescuing monster girls in a fantasy world.
The original release date was going to be in May, but I'm still working out some kinks in the visual novel engine, so the actual release date is more realistically somewhere in the first half of June.
To address some potential questions about the game:
Every other detail should be on the Steam page, but I'd be happy to address any question you might have here, so leave them below.
Most of all, if you have feedback regarding the Steam page I'd be even happier to take it into consideration. Whatever you think should improve, what other things you would expect from the game, etc.
Again, it's my first time doing... pretty much anything you're seeing on that page and will see in-game. So I'm certain there are lots of things to improve and I'm eager to improve them!
Steam page here!
Steam's algorithm for burying cheap low-effort games works better than ever for them, but it comes with disadvantages for people like me with basically 3 friends whom I could ask to wishlist and/or buy and review my game, which is why... I'm in dire need of some help.
My appreciation would be immeasurable if you could add my game to your wishlists! It might help if you did it even if you do not necessarily plan to purchase it on release.
Thank you so much!
Now... Put on your gym wear because it's time for some train-ing! (awful pun)
A total of 80 games, 7 of which are whitelist only, while the rest are levels 0 through 3.
To get on the train just remove the mistake from the link: https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/MQdmistake3U/
My current whitelist is relatively small and many people on there aren't active anymore, so I'll give you a chance to join and maybe grab one of the following games.
I selected some games that I like and some that have somewhat of a connection with my own game. So if you like any of these, we already have something in common, hurray!
Amnesia: Rebirth | Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night | Hiveswap Friendsim | Katana Zero | Mitsurugi Kamui Hikae | NOT FOR BROADCAST | Paradise Killer
If you want to join the whitelist just leave a comment mentioning you want to join and... I don't know, maybe tell me something about a favorite game of yours, so I can tell you're a real human and not an emotionless giveaway seeking missile.
These giveaways will run for about two weeks, so everyone should have a fair chance of entering and winning something. There should not be any region restricted nor activated keys as far as I am aware, but please allow for a degree of error. Most of these keys are pretty old.
Enjoy the games and best of luck, everyone!
But let's not forget that a thread is just a potato without a TL;DR, so here's one kept to a respectable number of words:
I make game.
Launch? Soon.
Feedback? Please.
Wishlist? Please.
Giveaways? Above.
Whitelist? Ask.
Hotel? Come on, this joke is too old now.
