Humble bundle 3 key asking to activate original game?

Trader gave me a HIB 3 key, I tried to activate it but it says "Please activate original game" at first. Then about the 3rd - 4th try, it says invalid product code o.O

Is steam restricts you from trying keys in an amount of time? or steam is just having problems right now?

ITS FREAKING SOLVED. STEAM SUPPORT = FAST AND AWESOME

previous problem:

1) I gave a space marine key to the other party, he activated it but he can't see the game in library, although the game can be seen in his profile - THIS IS SOLVED BY A STEAM RESTART

I'm not sure about the first one or why it would tell you you need a "original game", but after 3-4 invalid tries Steam "locks you out" of trying any more keys for about a hour.
I heard it has some Maintenance going on so if those other issues don't fix by themselves contact Steam support.

I had that same problem with a HiB 3 key... traded Just Cause 1 for the Humble Bundle key and it said the same thing yours said. I'm not sure why.

Perhaps you got duped and given a DLC key instead of a Bundle key.

Naw I wasn't; I told the guy to trade me first, and then I told him the key didn't work.

Showed him picture evidence and he just left, so I'm not necessarily sure :p

I think there's just something wrong with Humble Bundle 3 keys in general... o_o''

sorry, I'm using the script thinggy and it was set on newest first. I got used to this format so I didn't consider that you might not be using the script

Humblebundle/Steam support is so fast. I just emailed them last 1 hour and I got a reply. I tried activating it again and it works.

God dang it. I was so paranoid -_-
