Just saw this post. And yes, I'd KILL for a new single player Unreal game. The original Unreal is STILL my all time favorite FPS ever. To this day, I still go back to it once in a while. I even still have my old jewel case with Unreal Gold.

Of the top of my head I can think of a few:
Outrun
Sonic & all stars racing
A tennis game made by SEGA (any series will do)
Metal Slug
A sequel to MGR Revengeance (not very likely)
Jet Set Radio
A legends trilogy style Tomb Raider
There was this series of RPGs based on Id Software's games for old j2me phones that I really liked
Shank (I know Klei moved on but I wouldn't mind a third part)
And Portal is technically getting a spin-off so I guess I can't include it in the list.

Sam and Max: Freelance Police. They really need to make season 4, I'm tired of replaying the previous games :P

Dungeon Keeper. War for the Overworld was a good game, and it understood what made DK so fun. But I would still want more dungeon keeper!
System Shock. Yeah, I liked Bioshock, but it's not as good as System Shock.
Majesty: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim. I loved the first game, liked the second, and I would really want to see a game that tries to capture what made the first one so fun.
SWAT, in the style of SWAT 3/4, not SWAT 1, or 2. Heck, a SWAT 2 done right might actually be fun as well....
Arcanum. Because the setting is so amazing. If you've played it, you know.
Vampire: The Masquerade. In the vein of Bloodlines, not Redemption.

I miss this MMO. first one I played. Carpe Diem Online https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tyt7zfY8xHw
Neverwinter Nights - all these companies turning to MMO-s instead of making good singe/coop games...
Legacy of Kain - one of the best written and voice acted games Ive seen
Sacrifice - also amazing voice acting
Gothic (although Risen and Elex are around...)
Warcraft
Pharaoh and Cleopatra (fav building game, dunno if they should make another one like it)
Monkey Island
Vampire the Masquerade
Majesty
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
Lords of the Realm
KOTOR
Warlords Battlecry (although I also enjoyed Warlords 4)
Mount and Blade bannerlord when it comes out :P

DAMN! I go out for a couple of hours to see the new Star Wars and I see this many replies?
I have to admit that I AM impressed by the fan following of some franchises.
That, and I just thought of a couple more I'd like to see return.
Altered Beast
Gunman Chronicles I know it was one game, but it did seem that they should have made more
And lets bring back a true classic- Lemmings!

-Prototype
-S.T.A.L.K.E.R.(it's a shame that they cancelled S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2)
-Maybe something like a Spore 2 or something
-Legacy of Kain
-The Suffering
-Fable
-Darksiders(i know there's a Darksiders III coming soon...but it could come a bit sooner)
-Hitman(something like hitman 2 or blood money and not like the recent one)

Fable... but it's never going to happen and for that I'm sad. Also Blinx that was a fun couple games.
Edit: What happened to good DragonBall games like tenkaichi?

[PROTOTYPE]. A game where you play as an infected runner with shape-shifting abilities.
Combines parkour and using vehicles, weapons and super-human abilities, ultimately making you an unstoppable bringer of death.
Also, a great game if you just want to beat the living crap out of anything that stands in your way.
Sadly it will never happen since Radical (a company who made the first and second game of the series) was shut down by Activision.

Anything by Rare if they team up with Nintendo again, the combined quality control created so many classics.
Anarchy Online is still going and has had a graphical update, but I'd love to see it go back to how it was (less micro transactions) WITH a modern graphics engine. I'd be standing around the Temple of the Three Winds right now looking for a team for my level 60 Twink :P

And I do NOT mean ones that are currently ongoing like
Final Fantasy
CoD
Battlefield
Elder Scrolls
Fallout
And others that pretty much a yearly release.
I got to thinking of this last night when talking t my RL friend on the phone (yes people still use the phone for other things than texting, internet and porn) and we were talking about older franchises we haven't seen a game from in a while.
We both agreed that we want to see
Serious Sam 4
A new Castlevania game
A new single player old school type of Phantasy Star
Skies of Arcadia, even though we know that one will never happen
And I was joking how I'd like to see the return of
Toejam and Earl
Gigawing
maybe a new Golden Axe game
So, anyone else have some franchises they would like to see make a comeback sometime?
And HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!
