So a giveaway of mine ended a little over a week ago, and the winner never accepted the key. I had put in a ticket for it, and apparently it was accepted last night for a re-roll. I check this morning and notice there is a new winner, and it's marked as " Not Received ". Of course, I hadn't sent it yet, but it seems a bit poor etiquette to mark something as received a few hours after you've "won" it. Granted, I know generally a week is allowed for delivery/reception, and in a regular case, they wouldn't have been able to mark it as such. Maybe they saw that the giveaway ended a week ago? Seems like something should be fixed as that week timer doesn't reset. Has anyone experienced this? I sent the key and submitted a ticket.

Try to send the winner a message, he should be able to change the status to received.

I sent them a friend request on steam. Is this the best method for contact?

If the winner has created giveaways themself in the past, best comment in one of those.

Edit: Just saw you already did this.

Sometimes. When I have someone who doesn't mark the giveaway, I'll post on the profile if I'm able, otherwise I'll send a friend request, a Steam chat message, AND an email. You never know what time of day they check any of these, or maybe they ignore chats but not emails, etc.

I do this on Day 6, which should be enough time for anybody to check to see if they've won anything on steamgifts. In your case, I'd do it all immediately.

Maybe the user was not online for a week, came back saw they won a week ago and there was not key -> not received.

I would not mind too much, just send the key and poke the new winner explaining the re-roll. Saw a similar situation once or twice and the new winner changed to received quickly.

Yeah I really feel there should be some type of notice. I had a re-roll once before, where a winner already had the dlc, and when the ticket was approved, the moderator commented on the ticket, so I saw a notification. With the previous winner on this giveaway having not accepted it for over a week, I got used to seeing that red "1" on the giveaways icon, so I realized it had been approved just by chance.
