I was in the friendzone for about 4 years. I hadn't really had a serious relationship beforehand nor during the first 3.5 years of friendzone; I was still a virgin too. Then I just gave up on her (moving a couple hours away helped), and I thought, "Fuck it." I went a little crazy out at the bars with one night stands for half a year.
Apparently this was interpreted by her as "more confidence," and we started dating. Been married 4 years now as of last Friday.
