Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night finally has a release date!

The game will be realeased on June 18th for all major home platforms (XBONE, PS4, Steam, GOG), and a week later for Nintendo Switch, which has been confirmed in this cool new trailer.

Igarashi's new game makes me so excite, that I decided to share a little bit of that excitement with you by creating this little giveaway.

+1 for using a boob tattoo as an excuse for boobie exposure

I don't know if that's good or bad thing, but when I watched the trailer for the first three times, I was so absorbed with the action, that I completely missed all the boobage.

I know that design. (^‿^)
I just miswrite phrase in the previous post (but I've already fixed it).

Been mildly hyped for this ever since it was announced. Enough so that I was annoyed when it got delayed. But with the before & after comparisons, I'm now happy again because it went from looking "passable but not spectacular" to "actually pretty good"

Yup, they put a lot and lot of effort to enchance the visuals. And it paid off, because the game looks much, much better than several months ago.
My only concern is the framerate. I will get XBONE or PS4 version, and considering the new, non-poop graphics, I'm afraid that the stable 60 fps gameplay could be avaliable only on XBONE X and PS4 Pro (while I have only Xbox One S and PS4 Slim).

Indeed it looks much better, although I don't really like how they changed the heroine's hair. Her original design was better, but I guess they wanted to please the waifu hunter crowd or something.

Yup, I totally agree with that.
Moreover, I remain under the impression that while the new version is definitely improved from the techical point of view, at times, it sadly looks less aesthetically pleasing than the „poopy” one.

Still doesn't look great, but definitely looks better.

I agree with you, the main problem is that the lighting is baked in the sprites and doesn't change with the environment.

Best response by a developer to all the criticism. I will look forward to play this game ^^

Hey, at least they listened to some criticism. Animations still look pretty amateurish though.

I'd say it's decent enough for a fast-paced action sidescroller.

(Happy Cake Day, by the way.)

Either way i'm not complaining as long as it's fun. I'm eager to see how the full game will turn out, as there are never enough metroidvanias in the market.

I still have high hopes for this one. Sadly, I'm temporarily short of cash, so I have to wait with purchase until the end of the month.

Grabbed it, really liking it so far, gameplay-wise.
Game just goes all-out right from the start, throwing several weapons and spells at you. If you compare it to actual Castlevania games, Aria and Dawn of Sorrow are probably the closest match seeing how you obtain your spells. from killed enemies. Miriam (the character you play as) also mirrors Shanoa from Order of Ecclesia in more than one way.
Gear you collect is fairly varied too, and different weapons mean different playstyles.
1st boss also didn't hold back, and you'll probably need a few tries to learn the tells, and figure out which weapons work best.

If the rest of the game keeps it up like this, it's going to be a hell of a ride.

Only thing I don't really like is the PC's running animation, It looks off somehow., like she's taking bigger steps than she's actually moving forward. But that's easy to ignore when the action happens.

Up to the 2nd boss now. So far, gameplay's still extremely solid.

Production values... less so.
Some dodgy voice acting to be had, some of the dialogue's on-screen text is just missing words, the 2D gameplay plane isn't mapped to the 3D space correctly and/or the camera pans too much, so you regularly clip into walls on the side of a room, loot from flying enemies can get stuck in mid-air and become unobtainable. No major, gamebreaking issues so far, but not as polished as it should be.

Oh, dear...
By the way, I've just ordered my copy of the game (XBO). Since we have today a non-working holiday in Poland, I probably wouldn't get it until Tuesday.

Welp, looks like I missed that one fortunately. Patch dropped today, so I should be in the clear.
Also just figured out how to deal with the 2nd boss. Game does seem to be designed in a way that forces you to change loadout and tactics, instead of picking a favorite weapon and sticking with that throughout.
Really digging it. probably will have to try the harder difficulties after this first playthrough.

New Patch seems to make the game suddenly crash more often for people (think bookcases being one of them).

It's an okay game, but i really don't see how 5 million was put in to this, feels like any random indie dev could have made this.

Actually when i open chests they just seem to be coming back and you can open them again, is that even how it supposed to be?

And how would one know if they been affected?

Nvm seems to be only consoles that got affected.

Some chests are supposed to be refilled so they can be opened again. the game will tell you which ones at some point too
