I won 3 giveaways in the past 3 days. So, now, karma is forcing me to give back.

Unfortunately, I can only give away Thief Gold :(

So, what about you. Do you believe in Karma ?

I hope not, because then I'd be forced to decide whether this is my punishment or my reward.

@Karma

I belive in gut feeling. It works... sometimes.

  • When it works someone has a good intuition.
  • If it turns out you've been wrong with your guess,
    then you just had bad luck or an unreflected affect judgement.

@winning games

Indeed, quite an impressing streak of luck, not only the last three days, though.
Since our Borderlands GOTY competition (what an event!) not even 2 months ago, you won 13 !! games! O_O
I won 1 game in the last 5 months.

Karma is just an excuse hippies make so they don't have to strain their brain, can provide comfort to their fragile self's, and/or find a reason to do nothing about injustice. The belief that things will sort themselves out is a dangerous, negligent, ignorant, worthless, and moronic notion that in reality benefits no one and does nothing beyond pacifying and placating those who are weak enough to buy into such irrelevant nonsense.

I don't actually believe in karma, but I do believe that the common interpretation "do good things so good things happen to you" is sensible according to the pay it forward principle: If you do something nice for someone else he might be inclined to do something nice for someone else etc and in the end everybody gets something nice done for them ;)

Do I believe that good deeds bring about some sort of "automatic" reward? No. However, I do believe that if we stopped focusing on the self and on selfish actions that we could make the world a better place for everyone, both materially and immaterially.

I don't think that there is anyone that can do a selfless action.

No, you're right in a sense. True altruism is a paradox in a way. However, if instead of taking selfish actions in the short term, we could and IMO should take actions that serve the collective, because those are the actions which best serve the self in the long run anyway.

Karma is i guess whatever you want to make it

but i do think things have a way of working themselves out but it has nothing to do with Karma but more less how you view life and how you see it as it unfolds

as if you steal something and you get caught and you decide not to do it again it has worked itself out but if you continue to steal it has not worked itself out

but like i said it all depends on how people see it and that is just how i see it does not mean it is law and that is how things work it just how i see things

Karma gives us something to believe in and that is fine i do think if you do good things that good things will happen to you but not because Karma per say but because people will get to know that you do help others and in turn at some point someone will do the same

I don't believe in karma particularly, however in my life something is absurdly annoying, it doesn't matter how good or bad things get, the complete opposite is around the corner. Sometimes it scares me when I get too happy, because I know that pretty soon something bad is about to happen to even out all of that happiness.

It's hard to explain, but I don't even think it's an external force acting upon me, it's me that is affecting it all, it's my perspective that makes those things good or bad and it's only my thinking that makes it good or bad. The better things get for you, the higher the chance that something else will upset you, even if it wouldn't upset you just a while ago, but because you obtained a high degree of happiness it now annoys you. For instance if you tasted normal chocolate, it would make you happy, then tasting a new chocolate that was better would make you even happier, but then after getting used to the new chocolate and tasting the old one you'd get sad because that isn't as good as the new chocolate, although eventually you could get used to the normal chocolate. Basically stuff keeps happening and switching up the chocolate in your life and no matter how good or bad. This also explains why everyone has problems, no matter how rich or poor you are, you keep having all kinds of problems, sometimes the poor people have less problems to worry about than the richest people in the world. This is also why you can't compare anyone's problems to starving kids in Africa and say that their problems don't matter.

Going through life I often found myself asking "Why would anyone do something like that to another person?" and eventually I found that answer in myself. At some point in life I couldn't understand what one person wanted from me, only to find myself trying to get the same thing out of another person a few years later and constantly seeing myself in the shoes of the first person and suffering all of their suffering. Karma can't be a real thing simply because there's no pure good or pure evil, giving out stuff for free could be considered bad if you give a game to some kid who becomes addicted to it and that game spirals his life out of control and makes him addicted to games and turns him into a killer and etc. There are far too many issues with karma and there are practically no pure evil people in the world, everyone does what he believes is right or brings them pleasure, even if that act is an act of terrorism and murder, it's done for a righteous reason in that person's mind.
