Look at the url of any giveaway and you'll see that every one of them has a different set of 5 digit/letter code.

Well if what you got was a five letter/digit code, with or without / on either end, then just enter the URL www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/xxxxx/ and replace the xxxxx with your code. Note that there must be only one / before AND after the code, and everything after that you delete from the URL.
That's the most common way to share a giveaway. I have noticed someone used a URL shortener as well once. If that's the case then you just copy the entire URL given to the address bar and it will sort itself out when you press enter.
