Neverending story

I might be in a minority but didn't found the second movie that bad (i never read the novels though), always thought Jonathan Brandis was a good actor too, shame what happened to him in the end.

Already have that one (great game, BTW), but I liked the little puzzle. Did the wrong thing at first, then figured it out pretty quickly after a herp-derp moment. 😆😁🤣

:) That song always makes happy, a time when things seems a lot simpler, easier and relaxed.
Also fun movies like neverending story, but also an original Total Recall, original Robocop, without all the silly reboot these days.

Then again if you were a child you also never had the adult responsibilities like bills etc, it's probably a mix of both i guess that make people hang for the time when they were a kid.

I'm surprised everyone seems to know that movie/book (?) this is the first time I've heard of it

Might depend where you´re living aswell. The author (Michael Ende) used to be like J.K.Rowling for the late 20th century in Euope. I highly recommend another book by him Momo. : )

If I recall correctly, the movie was about the biggest thing happening outside Hollywood at the time. It´s director went straight there afterwards to do a couple of films with the likes of Clint Eastwood, Harrison Ford and George Clooney,, one of the composers won an Oscar the same year for his work on another movie - Flashdance

To sum it up you could say the whole thing was like LOTR in the 1980s. With it´s visual style it might even have done it´s part to pave the way for Animé in western culture.
edit: apparently it even found it´s way into todays pop culture here

I have been living under a rock almost all my life so I don't know much about movies or books but I'll check these out since it seems to be beloved by so many 0:

They should be sued for false advertising, due to the fact it ended and they came out with a second movie. What a ripoff!

And a third, and am surprised not even a fourth these days, even Labyrinth is gonna get a sequel (without David Bowie obviously). Always hoped for another Gremlins movie.

I saw Gremlins the other day and I think it's still a good movie, aged ok with years.
A remake now? I don't find it a good idea...

My favourite book, an excellent song (from a not-so-excellent-though-memorable movie) and a great game. And a nice puzzle, thanks!

When the Final Fantasy movie came out and a friend wanted to see it, I thought he was talking about the Neverending Story. And I was like why the hype? It's years old :'D (never heard of FF back then)

I always see this recommended as "the movie you loved as a child but NEVER watch it again as an adult"

Loved these movies as a kid. But now i'm a bit scared to look up what happened to the actor...

You are awesome! I love this movie, and the book is even better! Read it now!

I also learned tonight that Limahl, who sang this theme song, was also the lead singer in Kajagoogoo, who performed "Too Shy." I never would have guessed!

I don't even have time to play all my games, let alone read, and i just always tell myself games are interactive books so atleast i am doing something "intellectual". :p

Yep showed as a suggestion in youtube when i searched the clip yesterday, sometimes you can actually learn some nice things from youtube in that section, for some reason though i always mix this song up with the band Erasure, maybe they had a similar (movie) hit or something, no idea.

Erasure does have a similar sound. I just listened to them for a bit - thanks for the recommendation! - and now I'm on to Echo & the Bunnymen.
