Hello everyone!

It wouldn't even me if I wouldn't make a birthday-thread actually after my actual birthday ends, but hey, December is always a crazy month. And this one is definitely not an exception to that.

So, without much of a fanfare: A game! If you aren't a bot

If you know the password, that you got from a certain Hyper Light Drifter giveaway: go here

Hey, was our last conversation really a reason to blacklist me? I wasn't being disrespectful or insulting you.
Happy IRL cakeday tho!

It was you, who said that the possibility of getting something for free made it technically worthless, even if you pay for it.
(The context was a GOG key is worthless, because it's DRM-free and the same is available through torrenting, and having it on Steam at least has a prestige value)

I was curious what your reaction would be if that would mean no free games from other users either. Getting it for free would mean it's less meaningful as working for it, and/or buying it, right?

I'm not particularly mad at you, and technically speaking, no hard feelings.
You have the right to have that opinion, but I can choose not to support your point of view. Buy your prestige value yourself.

It was me who told you why having a game on Steam might have a prestige value. I was adding a different perspective into the discussion. I personally have played games from GoG or Epic that I enjoyed for what they were and no, I haven't bought them on Steam for the prestige value or have intention to do so.

Yes, I'm a firm believer of that opinion, what is given for free is appreciated less than something you work for and buy. I've seen it happen to me and to others. If you look at my SG won history you can see that I entered just about anything at the start, but over the years I started to only enter for games I'd play. My point is that only if you work on this thing, it will improve, otherwise gift = less value.

This whole thing feels like you would also blame Niccolo Machiavelli for being machiavellian. Just because I added another perspective in a discussion, it doesn't mean I practice or fully agree with it.

I may have (or I did?) misread the situation then, sorry.

No problem, you weren't the only one to misread it, there were 6 other blacklists, so some fault lies with how I type too from what I see.

Happry Birthday!

December is crazy indeed, especially when you wake up and everything is covered by snow -> you go out to clean the sidewalk, you just finish it by the start of the first daily meeting(work related), which is only 30mins long and by the end of that the sidewalk looks so that you not did anything at all previously:-D
