I can still access and download everything just fine, don't think they deleted accounts (Because noone is working there at this point and you still bought the games and own them for in case the odd chance someone else would take over Desura).and it just sits there until the site closes, maybe they stopped the email service or someone got into your account, dunno.
You can always search on your account name if it's still there.

My account being still there is the only thing I am sure of.
I tried to contact them through their contact form on the site, haven't heard of anything in a week, so I guess they are dead and/or don't give a fuck.
I guess I'll have better luck contacting the authors of the games I want to play directly.

just checked it, I can still acces my account
good riddance though, yet another shitty company about which barely anybody cared bites the dust. More place for actual competent DD services like GOG, Steam, Groupees...

I rather trust a business like Groupees with my money than Desura, indeed. Do you know whats the difference between them and Desura?
Somehow its not Groupees that is about to get bankrupt due to shitty business decisions and its not the business that has a history of constant fucking up like Desura did with devs payout and such.
I mean sure, they MAY had some good games there...but from what I have seen at the front page lately, a good amount of games wouldnt fit on steam or gog, because (and I was yet being kind) they were kind not great looking, basically games that you would see on sites like gamejolt.
Remember when they basically stopped providing steam keys for desura games (the ones that had any)? They probably realised that most people only redeemed their keys to grab the steam copy when it was avalaible, nothing more. That itself was a quite clear sign that they are struggling to hold up any interest toward their service, to get people buying from their service.
DRM free downloads are never a safe guarantee that they will remain on a server for an unlimited time, thats true. but that wasnt even my main point.

not sure of that, then again I may have mislooked something
and even if it happened, im sure they actually fixed it, sooner than the Desura staff would ever do such thing
like the fact that even simple things such as the discussion spammers were never ever dealt with makes me wonder if they didnt gave up on Desura long long time time ago.
Edit: nvm, I found that certain reddit PSA about what happened. Its safe to say that the ball was at the devs too, the same way as it may have been at Groupees staff
Basically they couldnt provide the download for those games due to legal issues from what Im reading

But there was also something about a server crash which i do remember, oh well. Haven't really bothered looking at my old groupees stuff. https://www.reddit.com/r/GameDealsMeta/comments/311aoc/psa_groupees_is_failing_to_uphold_its_obligation/

That was all on the last company that owned Desura, and looks like a lot of the **** was on the head of the owner, since staff sure weren't informed.

true but that doesnt really recomfort their customers and devs who were left in the dark without months and months of their cash

I'm just pointing out that you are hating the wrong guys. The current screw up was by a company who didn't even own Desura for a year, and the employees were screwed over as well. Twitter was how some found out they lost their jobs.
before they took over, Desura wasn't a problem like it was under Bad Juju.

Greetings,
I have tried to look around online, but didn't find anything relevant.
I have been away from Desura for quite a while (basically left off when the Second Life dudes decided to turn the client into spamware central).
I was trying today to log into the site to download one of my games, when I was told my credentials were off, which seemed weird.
I tried to reset the password 3 times since yesterday: didn't get an email once.
Now I tried the same on former sister site moddb, and everything is working there, from my credentials to the password recovery.
So basically, my question is, is there anyway to access your Desura library or were old accounts just dumped during one of the so-called banqueroutes?
Cheers!
