You don't have permission to access "http://store.steampowered.com/" on this server.

This is what comes up whenever I try to open any steam page on my pc. Anybody have an idea what may be the problem? Checked every page if the steam is down, but it is up. I can acces my inventory through client tho, but store is a a blank dark page and this is what browsers shows me. Anybody can tell me what's the problem?

However, I can access the main page through phone or my mothers PC, so I guess I just run into a problem in mine pc. May it be some game I downloaded through steam? since I was downloading some games today and maybe some of them had virus? Heard some indie devs are doing this

Have you tried using a different browser? Deleting cookies/site data? Restarting?

I have this problem on rare occasions, and it's definitely on Steam's end. You can call it a hickup. Just try it in a couple of minutes, it should resolve itself shortly.

I had the same issue a couple days ago for about a hour and then it went back to normal. Haven't had trouble since.

If I remember right that just means that steam has blocked your ip for one hour. Try later or get a new ip.

That is what I was going to suggest, too. Once ran some script (ES or something maybe) which hammered steam's website and blocked me for a bit.

oh, okay? I was just browsing pages, sorting my library by genres and I suddenly just couldn't access it. Worked after a while. can you maybe tell me what causes this type of ban, if I am running no script?

Mostly opening too many tabs in a very short period of time. Happened to me quite a lot because I am always tab-browsing the store. Since I realized, I only open two tabs, wait a few seconds, rinse and repeat. Am hardly blocked anymore.

Afaik it's a DDoS protection which is triggered whenever you send to many requests in too short time. There's some info in the ASF bugtracker. ESGST also limits the requests to steam because of that. But even if you don't use any tool or script you can get this with multiple tabs or if you share your ip with other users which also uses steam.

Yeah that makes total sense, but why is it triggered so easily? I mean I get this error as well once in a while, and I'm not using any scripts. Just like Amano noted above, pretty normal browsing and poof you get blocked. :D
Seems like it needs a better fine tuning or something.

With sharing your IP with others I not only meant that your using an open WiFi but also that some ISPs only have a limit pool of IPv4 addresses. Then You only get a unique IPv6 address and in such cases an ISP uses an IPv6 to IPv4 technique and several customers have to share an IPv4 address. Since the pool of IPv4 addresses is exhausted this is more and more common depending on where you live.

Happens to me sometimes (and usually, at the same time, the steamcommunity domain does work). And when this occurs, I am able to access the store from other IPs. So my bet is I get IP-banned for a few minutes or hours, particularly since it generally occurs after I've been browsing the site intensively (typically, this occurs during Steam events where you need to browse your suggestions queue 3 times to unlock some sales cards).

Try this:
1: Open "Steam".
2: Go to "Settings"
3: Choose "Web Browser"
4: Delete "Browser Cache" and "Browser Cookies"

Then check to see if fixed.
