what happened to all those dead island exploited keys?

They were all invalidated by steam, and removed from accounts of the people who had redeemed such a game, but no ban was issued unless you were trading the keys, or in any other way exploiting the system using them.

Not knowing about the exploit, I traded for one some time ago. The game disappeared from my account shortly thereafter...

Interestingly, I could still play the game just by clicking on the .exe file in my Steam folder, but I did the right thing and bought it the next time it was on sale :D

Wanna laugh about something? I've won a giveaway on a site in greece they send me a closed boxed copy of dead island.. it ended up having the key used o_O. Was fun trying to convince the site i havent added it on my accoutn and thanks to the whole mess that happened i proved myself right! So i ended up having another copy of the game.. i still remember the mess tha thappened that time.
