Don't feel bad, my nephew had the same problem... He didn't notice the first day, missed the chance for a precious "level 3" badge. Oh well...
And I wasn't going to try explaining how to "run" the games without installing anything, he'd probably end up downloading some account-stealing thing by accident...

I already have Don't starve together installed so I did run that game properly. Pretty sure it's sad for anyone who actually has to install a bunch of games just for this event.

Yeah, especially if they want to try one of those MMO things... You could spend hours downloading before you get to do anything... And then the Steam version will run a launcher that needs to download everything all over again... Maybe it's no big deal for people with the shiny ultra-internet though... :)

Well I played a few, and I had to use a keyboard because my first game was DOTA test, lost 1 hour trying to make Plants vs. Zombies work on win 10 (fun times)so yah.. fun YAY!

My first game was umm, whatever came with the "ATI Bundle" i.e. the "Oops, Half-Life 2 isn't ready yet, play this stuff instead" bundle...
Crazy, actually playing the games legit should be easier than faking it... Feels like Valve could have spent a bit more time on this event, not telling people to run crap that doesn't even work, died, was removed from the store, etc. But I guess that would require someone at Valve to look at the games they are selling, and we know that's never going to happen... Oh well...

Yup, I got the 2 set of items so far, and waiting for tomorrow to complete the 3rd phase.
Of course I did not play a single game to get 'em, ASF did the trick. I would be impossible for me to get the badge, since the first game I bought (FM 2012), runs only on windows.
