LMAO, that reminds me when I contacted EA support for Darkspore, which doesn't work installed through steam, and very very rarely works on Origin. They were asking me questions that would pretty much give whoever is asking access to my account, and they would tell me why they needed the info, or at least what they did say was as vague as could be...

I honestly didn't think there were so many people were tricked by the whole "/me" thing that Valve felt the need to take action. Glad it's not a viable tool for such phishing anymore though.

Honestly, I don't see how that was a close call at all. The guy showed his cards with the very first line. No Steam rep is going to use miss-matched lower case letters and poor punctuation like that, not to mention the syntax sounds like a 10 year old. I mean, it's immediately obvious some pre-pube poser is typing.

I think we should all have multiple Steam accounts. One for most of our games that we never make visible or known to anyone, another for any VPN games (just in case), and at least one more for any time you're in a position where someone needs info that could ruin your day if they aren't who they say they are and abuse it. "Hah! I've scammed you out of your account, loser! Hey, waitasec... why do you only have Fortix, Metro 2033 and Toki Tori? Aw, dammit!"

Oh man, that was a close call! How did you know his tools weren't functioning though? I had my tools working in beta stage at that age.

How does this qualify as "hacking"? The goal is to get you to hand over your info, that is not hacking. Too many people toss around that word as if everything is considered hacking these days.
