Do you even know what "hacking" means?

You said you dodged a bullet on this one and you named the link "he almost got me", but I don't see how. The whole thing was totally obvious even if the /me command was working. Would you really of been stupid enough to fool for it, if the /me command worked? The guy didn't even capitalize the s in Steam, and the i in I, in his first sentence in the log. Typing mistakes are usually the first indication of a scammer or a kid. And even if the typing was perfect, I wouldn't listen to anyone claiming to be community admin offering a free server. I would have alarm bells going off in my head, as soon as someone messages me saying that stuff. I would want name and employee identification number, then I would verify this information before I even talked to him.

Worst. "Admin". Ever.

"Community Admin" I would have ignored him from the first seconds.

ok lets break down what was wrong with this scamers 1st post

1&2) the name "Community Admin" most "admins" don't use admin in thier name also instead of "Community" he would have used the Community he was from not a blanket term.

3) use of the "/me" command

4) the "i can help you get free stuff"

so if you see any of those you should think and be causes about the rest of the conve with said person(s)
