Have you struggled with COVID before?
My personal experience is my brain feeling like it is trying to explode out of my skull for 2-3 days straight.
I also have a parent and a sibling whom have both lost their sense of smell going on 4 years now without it's return. 90+% of a persons ability to to taste food is in your sense of smell. Their lives have been changed because they can't taste food well anymore.
Good Luck and get recover quickly.

I'm not affected by the loss of smell yet, but I have suggested the training to my sibling and parent. It's up to them to decide if they want to try or not.
IF, I develop the loss of smell, I plan to try the training. I garden and love eating fresh grown food. It would suck to not be able to taste the food that I grow.

people around me used to tell me to smell some strong fragrance (like eucalyptus oil) whenever that happens (or when your nose is blocked in general). not sure if it helps if it has been that long, but maybe you can try to ask them to smell those things from time to time first to recover it.

Until now 3x (maybe more) of Covid were always "just" fever and so on, never the sense of smell and taste - lucky I guess.

I think this is my 2nd time to actually get it(first time with no smell/taste), the 1st time was in the 1st year of it... but I was so sick I didn't even want to go get in my car... drive a massive ... 1 minute to the free testing site to get free PCR and antigen testing.
I get bronchitis fairly regularly(at least... this is what a doctor diagnosed it as... 6 times before I stopped going to them for it(they prescribed antibiotics every time... but it never really sped up recovery)) so I just wrote it off as an extreme case of it... probably should have reconsidered my thoughts when it went for 3 weeks... instead of the normal ~1.

I got covid twice. Terribly sick, worse i have ever felt. No loss of taste or smell. I guess i have to thank the little favors
Sorry for your ordeal

Glad, that you are recovering and that your loss of taste and smell didn't turn out to be permanent.
Fortunately I'm one of those lucky once (at least for now), that don't even know, if they had or didn't have the COVID. I vaccinated already 3 times (as recommended) and for all, that I can see around, those vaccinations do work, either preventing the disease or making it quite mild.

I think, that this will come down like the flu shot, that is recommended to take yearly, though for me it seems sufficient to do so every 3 years or so. As for current COVID vaccinations I've just checked, and actually since April 15th we have a 5 dose recommended and available for free (btw, I was wrong before, I've taken it already 4 times), so probably tomorrow I'm gong to get the shot, cause likely I'm going to go to some crowded places this summer.

Bump! Only had covid once in my life, early on when the pandemic had just started but I didn't get the loss of taste/smell only sore throat and a fever for about a week, can't even imagine how losing one/multiple of your senses feels. Hope you have a full recovery!

I agree 100% that it sucks. I know first hand, I actually almost died from it in 2019, the first year it was out. It can scar your lungs pretty badly and cause you to cough and make it hard to breath sometimes as well as affecting your taste years after it's gone. My sense of taste changed. Some food that I used to love and tasted great now doesn't taste good anymore like pepperoni and salami. I can't eat runny egg yolks anymore since I got covid, they don't taste bad but they make me really sick.
Hopefully you won't have any lingering issues down the road, I wish you all the best.

I can also speak to this. Long Covid is something I'm still dealing with.

I've had confirmed COVID a few times (5? 6?) now and every time it seems to be getting lighter. I don't know if it's because I'm getting used to it or not. I'm sure the vaccines / boosters have helped. I remember the first time pre-vaccine was the worst I had ever felt in my life up to that point.
All this to say, I'm glad you're on the path to mending. I hope you don't get it again anytime soon!

COVID does in fact suck. I lost my sense of taste for a few days the first time I had it, before the vaccines were available. It was miserable. (Didn't help that it was Christmas and people sent us all sorts of treats that I couldn't enjoy). Glad you are on the road to recovery though!

I've always been careful, and managed to dodge covid until last year. Very annoying. The pain at least only lasted a day for me, but man was it intense, felt like I was gonna explode. Food tasted horrible and felt weaker for a week, but that's it.

Maybe this. You can also try checking the other common rule (needs public profile state to do this).

Cheers Pizzahut!
I don't mind syncing with SG for a few seconds once a week. But the SGTools database throwing up errors for what are now remedied issues on SG is a step I don't want to waste any time on.
I still think SGTools is great for making it harder for bots, I just wish someone would stop having it take it out on people who aren't bots :)

as some may know, not that long ago I went to a convention... and came down with COVID a day after it ended(... a convention I skipped for multiple years because my brother kept coming home from it with COVID... and then I finally go again and come home with it /sighs)
for 2 entire weeks my sense of smell and taste was completely gone, the other parts of COVID(severe congestion/sore throat(both required constant medicine for)/other stuff were pretty much gone within 4 days... Food became depressing, delicious foods became entirely temperature and textures(with hints of saltiness or sweetness(I caved and tried ice cream... wanting to taste something) at best).... Glad it came back in the past couple days, every day I felt the depression hit harder just because of food.... let alone not being allowed to go outside around people(but... I don't really do that often so not a huge deal there)
that ends my tiny tiny rant, enjoy this little train to celebrate it going away.
Games - Patch Quest(this one requires lvl 1 to enter, rest are 2), Havendock, Tchia, Shatter and Slaycation Paradise(2 copies)
Small Jigidi, SGtools protected with very basic rules
Probably won't respond to most comments, but I am reading them all.
