It is better to Give, then to Recieve.
Obviously winning is always more enjoyable, not because "yay, i got free stuff", there are free games every month lately but because winning with so many users here is very hard and makes me feel very lucky but i usually try to enjoy the most out of the giveaway i create with puzzles or something fun

I enjoy the feeling of winning 1 game over the feeling of giving away 1 game. That's an easy answer for me.
As a concept and which I like better overall - winning or giving, it's closer and approaching even.

Hmmm... yes I did put Taking in there instead of "Recieving" though if you "take" either of them in a sexual context it would have the same Meaning.
In this case, I set it as "Taking" for a reason. I wanted to see how many people would avoid the answer altogether and ask another question like "Why there no option for I like boys ;P".

Gifting, of course! It's what makes me really happy. Creating puzzles, forum giveaways...
I don't know, it just feels really good.
Obviously, winning makes me happy as well. However, since I can't get into any game lately and actually finish them, I feel a bit guilty when I win anything, since I just know I'll probably only play a few hours of it. Another problem is when I realize that my computer can't run a game, and I just have to leave it to collect digital dust while I wait for the day I will finally be able to afford a GPU upgrade.
Overall, what would make me very happy would be to be able to afford to purchase better games to give away, without it being an inconvenient to my financial status... :P

I prefer to give because I have a bad habit of spoiling others XD.

i sure need no alms (if i'd want something i'd get it), but winning is nice - yet giving another nice feel
-> no point in deciding whether breathing in or breathing out is better ...
if i had to decide, i'd say giving since that can easily be taken advantage for
"other purposes" - just as most of those attention-whoring big groups do ( 2k+)
essentially you're giving/receiving something that isn't necessary anyway - in my op.
some nice German aphorism from Goethe to "that":
"Mann mit zugeknöpften Taschen, dir tut keiner was zulieb'
Hand wird nur von Hand gewaschen: wenn du nehmen willst, so gib!"

I'm among the few that prefer giving and make someone happy then taking. Yes, winning is great too. But nothing better than see someone winning a game!
Well obviously, I'm much more excited when the winner is actually someone I know from other sites or from my whitelist.
And about options: you're probably expecting like you said. But why is there no option for "I like both"? :p

Hmmm... I thought you could add new options. well that's not as fun :-P

depends on game. If X has Y game on wishlist for 4 months (and short wishlist) then X will get great pleasure from either winning the game Or giving it to someone who wants it more.
If Z wins random game he won't be that happy. lil surprise at space cat that'll be all.

I voted for Taking BTW. Does that surprise any of you? :-P

Well, if you'd asked a year ago, I'd say I love taking, but, somehow, now I don't feel like taking as much as giving. Not to say I don't enter and hope to win GAs, but, I might have had a game on my wishlist for a year and when I get it, most of the times I give it away. I'm not some kind of selfless bastard, I think it's due to my how my craptop can't run anything, I don't have the time to immerse myself in games and owing to my crappy internet, anything bigger than 5 GB will not get downloaded in the forseeable future.
So in short, I find myself unable to spend money on myself, although I like to win stuff other people have spent money on. Where does that put me? :P

I'm sorry, I'm confused. Spacecat? is it maybe my old profile picture? He's my cat, I saved him when he was a kitten, I found him alone outside in the toolshed, and his body already felt like Ice, but he was still moving, so I slipped him into bed with me, and he's now almost 3 years old.

Ah! thank you. don't remember seeing that. I'll look for it next time :-)

I prefer to pay it forwards.....I haven't given anything fancy since i get all the money from doing surveys so i can't afford giving any AAA title (heck,I can't even afford getting myself one).......but it's better than nothing,"right?".I don't want anyone to think that i'm a cheap ass ungrateful user with 0 game given like many users not because i'm afraid of getting blacklisted or others opinion but due to the fact that i'm trying to be fair and don't want anyone to understand me the wrong way.
P.s: That topic could really be understood the wrong way dirty mind

I barely enter giveaways these days. I don't enjoy giving games either, because it's a hard process for me personally (too long of a story to explain). It does make me feel good when someone seems thankful<3 But otherwise the process is a pain. And I mean making hundreds of giveaways, not a few.

You know. I've only won 1 giveaway so far, and yet i'm happy with that.
I'd like to think that I got lucky, because Luck has always been my worst attribute.
Every game I've ever played that was based on luck, I totally fail at. T.T
However, games where I can work towards a goal and achieve it by working for it, I excell,
and I like to think there are more of those out there.

I have put you on my whitelist, hopefully some day you will win some game from me!
Well, who doesn't love getting a free game? But again, the level of happiness/satisfaction of winning a game, in my opinion, depends on the quality of the game, and the quality of the GA itself. If it is an AAA game, everybody will be very happy, but maybe will be less happy (still happy though) if they received games that are good but not very good.
Me personally, I love giving, so I gave out games. A lot of my gifts are leftovers of bundles, but a gift is a gift, right?

I am back to drinking Vodka. Good, clean Polish potato Vodka. Prepare that.

You should've had an option for both equal ... cause I honestly can't decide ... will go on impulse!

Do you like making Give aways more then winning them? or is winning a Give away what you live for?
I'm genuinely curious, and yet could'nt care less either way.
That is to say, I want the truth not because I care which it is, but because I wish to know it for it's own sake.
I figured a poll was a decent way to find out.
Psychology tells us that we derive the greatest pleasure from short term gain vs longterm prosperity, and yet people often think of their longterm gains as their greatest acheivements.
