He is a simbol of the internal power strugle of the party, uninformed decisions and the attempt to position the party more towards the political right. One of the newspaper of record in our country, the Süddeutsche Zeitung had a piece about him recently with the title "Seehofer hat den Anstand verloren" ("Seehofer has lost his decency"), making a play on words replacing "mind" with "decency", when he told the press full of joy what a fun coincidence it was that they were sending back 69 refugees to Afghanistan on his 69th birthday.

We have this guy called Edgar Savisaar. During the 90s, he was integral to our independence and politics. But over time, he's become a mess. He broke the law a few times, basically got off scot-free because of his status. Now he's thought to be involved in organized crime so much that he's actually in a court case, where he (if I remember correctly) got out because of his health issues. Main health issue being him losing his leg because of a flesh eating bacteria.
He used to lead one of the most popular parties, which basically translates into "The Centrist Party". That party usually has the Russian and senior vote. Our political sides are slightly different, so that centrism means little since they're very much a Russian sympathetic party now. His antics got him kicked out the whole party. So, he started a new one which had a campaign that basically said "We're the new Centrist Party, a vote for us is mainly a vote for me, because everyone here is my lackey". He got only 14% of the vote. He was expecting a majority. He couldn't even get his main demographic to vote for him.

Oh, also he scammed people out of a bunch of money with him promising that he'd get a (get this...) a bionic leg. He didn't, of course. Oh, also he made a store for the poor, which failed due to utter incompetence. He made a café as well, which is suspected to be involved in money laundering too.

The dude's become a total joke, but he would've earned my respect if he went full Adam Jensen on our ass by getting a bionic leg and becoming a crooked cop who never asked for this.
