Btw, as an Austrian I like the topic of the "Play a game you won on SG challenge", haha.
Unfortunately nearly all of my games with a relation to Austria I haven't bought on Steam since it were eroge. Like G-Senjou no Maou (soundtrack with huge relation to Austria) and Ourai no Gahkthun (character based on a real person from Austria) ... Except from them I can't remember any game :D

Aurora, a young girl from 1895 Austria ;) I think this game was a main focus when picking the theme, a lot of tags fit it :D
I also remember Austria being a playable empire in the Cossacks games, maybe even with a campaign of their own, but I don't remember that fully.

Ah, you're right with Cossacks. Completely forgot that, since I played France and Portugal most of the time, haha.
When I think about it, Austria is somehow even related to Age of Empires 2. The special unit of the Teutons is the Teutonic Knight, which is from the Teutonic Order, who have their headquarter in Vienna and who were also active in the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
In the past Austria-Hungary was a world power and this historical background/connection of these two countries still exists in many regions, which is good in my opinion.
I'm from Eisenstadt by the way, so I don't have a long way to the border and I'm regularly shopping in Hungary 😄

At a point I really hope I can get a good trip to Austria - when we went as a family, it was always "castles and mountains" because that's what my mother likes most :D Recently I realised how little I actually know about Austria despite being there a few times... also gotta refresh my German :P

If that's the case,then I think you have to drive a little bit deeper into Austria, since Burgenland is in many ways still Hungary :D
If you like hiking, I can recommend the Myra Falls in Lower Austria ;)
