So I'm not trying to just promote my blog, but I've already typed up the steps there for myself, and some other guy from the official Steam forums. I thought some of you guys here might want the instructions as well.

Basically I got sick and tired of having to hit "login" and type my whole username/password into the box just to log and and see what my friends are buying/playing etc.., so here's my fix!

Lastpass does the same thing.

I hate lastpass, it's terrible... not to mention their user data was recently compromised.

Thanks for the suggestion, truly. I just can't give them my information after the compromised data :(

Not really - you can't do much with that "data" unless you know the passwords for every single account. Considering you have a strong password (8+ chars, as you should with anything that involves cryptography), you are just fine.

This is what I'm talking about though. I used their service in the past, but I just can't bring myself to do it after this happened. I never found a super-good use for it either, Firefox remembers my passwords just fine, and I use KeePass as an ecrypted PW DB.

I always assumed it always logs you in automatically, I never have to re-login on my Firefox.

Edit: Oooooh, the Steam store. I thought you were talking about this site.

Yeah sorry, every now and then this site logs me out but that isn't a big deal to just click the "sign in thru steam" button :P.
