For some strange reason I made it on icaio's whitelist. Don't know when, don't know how. I do not remember if I ever entered one of his many giveaways, but I always enjoyed seeing them.

Found a little something on my laptop today that made me sit and reminisce about Icaio.
it was an old message from Icaio, an old word-file on my PC. It was what he jokingly called "Punishment".
He used to send me keys for the impossible kind of games games like TTV2,Ubermosh, Utopia Must Fall, and Bullethell mostly because he was so friendly and generous, but also because he loved hearing my frustrated screaming when I inevatibly failed. These types of games are hard... He'd give me the keys, I'd fail the games miserably, I'd then loudly berate him (and the developers) over Steam chat, we laughed, rinse and repeat. Punishment.
The concept of Punishment grew over the years to encompass other games as well, he always had a key or twenty extra to just give away to people he liked, and he liked many here for sure.
The message from Mr I that followed almost 3 full pages of keys reads as follows:
P U N I S H K O S K A J A A A ! !start with these, cheap cheap shopping that comes from russia, with love, obv.if you already own smth you should share it (if you don't want, send them back... but, do share them, it's a punishment afterall)

Now, most of those keys are used up have you seen my backlog?! but some are still there, still available.
So I will pass on the punishment to y'all now, but with a little request: That they go firstly to people here that do not know who Icaio was, who joined after he passed, or just outright missed his presence here. anyone can ask.
That way Mr I can touch a few more peoples hearts, even from the other side. Or maybe not, these are not exactly triple-A games, they are Punishments after all... Hahahahahahaha!

Optional: I might see his GAs and / or even join them, but didn't care about the author's personality. There are just lots of people. Then, my GF told me about I's passing away and this train-discussion. I still know nothing, it seems.

Thanks for the game, it's very thoughtful of you to do this, it's amazing how Icaio's name has come so far, despite no longer being with us, his incredible humility and kindness will live on in the SteamGifts site, good deeds are never forgotten and will always be remembered ᵔᴥᵔ♥

Sounds like nice memories, and what a character he was.
I never knew Icaio, despite being here before him, though I've had my hiatuses. I've come to known of his passing some while ago, when I first read this thread. He seemed like a nice guy. May he rest in peace.
And I'd like to try my hand at - or, well, receive my punishment in the form of - Gemini, if you still have it.

Hey all. I am going to start by saying that I do not have any more information than what I am sharing in this post.

ANOTHER EDIT, just a quick update
As some of you know, icaio has not been on SG for a while, and he hasn't logged into his Steam profile either.
I posted on his Steam profile a few weeks ago, just a quick note saying I hoped he was okay.
Yesterday I received a friend request on Steam from someone I did not recognize. I didn't see any obvious red flags, so I accepted.
This new friend sent me a message today, saying that they were icaio's cousin, and they saw my post on his profile and wanted to let me know that icaio passed away on September 30.

I don't think it's a stretch to say that icaio was an absolute legend of Steamgifts. His generosity, sense of humor and thoughtfulness came through in every 'showerthinking' post and every 'trash' game giveaway and every time he helped to solve a derailment in the community train.
Before I visited Rome a few years ago, caio volunteered to give me his mobile number so I could ask him real-time questions while I was in Italy. And that's exactly what I did! So we didn't quite get a chance to actually meet in person, but it was fun to chat with him while we were in the same country.
Not much more to say right now. Just R.I.P. to icaio, he will always be a Steamgifts legend.
