I'm not quite sure. On this day 2 years ago he made a thread to celebrate PeteOzzy's birthday (former mod IIRC) but many people seemed to think it was icaio's birthday (as well?).

I vaguely remember him telling me the date and I did now go and check and I have sent him a little birthday gift via Steam on this day last year. It could be that he didn't wanna correct me that I got the date wrong, dunno. Someone who knew him better would have to say.

I'm playing Stray Gods: The Musical right now and I was checking the reviews and found Icaio's review in Italian for it and it made me crack up.

Indeed...and I often would get around to playing trash games that I'd won simply because he found some aspect of the game fun, so I felt like I needed to try out that jank too, if for no other reason than to be able to talk to him about it later. :D

That's what I love best about this train. So many games that are not given away much on SG because no CV but there's something for everyone to find some joy in it.

Hey all. I am going to start by saying that I do not have any more information than what I am sharing in this post.
EDIT: as it turns out, I do have some more information
ANOTHER EDIT, just a quick update
As some of you know, icaio has not been on SG for a while, and he hasn't logged into his Steam profile either.
I posted on his Steam profile a few weeks ago, just a quick note saying I hoped he was okay.
Yesterday I received a friend request on Steam from someone I did not recognize. I didn't see any obvious red flags, so I accepted.
This new friend sent me a message today, saying that they were icaio's cousin, and they saw my post on his profile and wanted to let me know that icaio passed away on September 30.

I don't think it's a stretch to say that icaio was an absolute legend of Steamgifts. His generosity, sense of humor and thoughtfulness came through in every 'showerthinking' post and every 'trash' game giveaway and every time he helped to solve a derailment in the community train.
Before I visited Rome a few years ago, caio volunteered to give me his mobile number so I could ask him real-time questions while I was in Italy. And that's exactly what I did! So we didn't quite get a chance to actually meet in person, but it was fun to chat with him while we were in the same country.
Not much more to say right now. Just R.I.P. to icaio, he will always be a Steamgifts legend.
