Do you feel the same?
Its the estrogen the government puts in the water - get a water-filter and you're back in the game.
Probably turned Michelle Obama into Michael Obama unless she was always a dude ... anyway get a water filter.

Well having a lot of time to play video games can seem cool at first but in the end, it becomes a curse due to you get burnt out sometimes it takes years and sometimes life just gets in the way.I never could get those people who say play nothing but LOL, CS-GO and so on year after year and mostly play that.I have to have choices since I get bored to easy just doing the same thing over and over.
ESO is the one game that I spend more time in than usual but even then sometimes I will go a week or more without playing it.It's sadly the same reason I have so many unfinished games or ones I have not played.I partly blame bundles and my need to buy pretty much any decent game that is in a bundle.I'm now at the point that even if I spent 10 hours a day playing all my games it would still take well over a year to complete them all 100%.
I have games on Steam, Uplat,Origin,GOG,Xboxone,Xbox 360 all in all I have over 1,000 games and even If each one averaged 10 hours to beat and I have 1,000 on the dot even playing 24/7 for a year I would not even hit 10 hours each.
So do yourself a favor quit adding to games you will never beat and save that money for something more useful than virtual dust.As in 10 years from now most likely, a lot of those games will not even work unless you keep outdated hardware around. So, in the end, you will most likely never play them anyhow.

I went through a period of 15-20 yrs where I hardly played any games at all. I might've bought a copy of Sim City and/or Civilization to cover over a decade for me. Focusing on career and just life makes that happen, and it was all good. But when I came back to gaming a few years ago in my mid 40s, it was pretty amazing what the games could do. I still only play in fits and spurts, but when I find a good game I really appreciate it now.

I feel you. I just started playing DOOM the other day and even though I really enjoy it, I don't feel a strong desire to keep playing it, but I know I would find it extremely fun. I think my huge backlog of games made my desire to play new games turn into a chore to play new games.

Yea. Bundles and in that matter backlogs kinda ruined the gaming. With so much choice selection you are not appreciating games too much.

I know I don't have the same drive as I used to. Games just really aren't that fun these days, as they feel like repeats and clones to me. I miss the days of kotor, Kingdom Hearts, Pokemon Gold & Silver, etc... In those days, everything felt new and refreshing, ready to give me a challenge, fun, and a decent story. Now it's all just survival this, shooter #9001, zombie something or another, else a unity asset flip.

Not that surprising - gaming needs attention, more or less skill, and as it was poinled out before, a bad movie is easy to watch, but a bad game is a struggle to play through. Because of this gaming is (surprisingly) more demanding than reading, or watching series or movies, and a bad/badly chosen game can really be problematic. It's normal that you don't want to play as much - just look at the games, the industry - what was new in the nineties is just tropes and cliché today, and if you actively played since that era then you'll painfully notice them. Just don't overstress it. I was almost exclusively playing games, and while liking some movies, I had-have trouble with keeping up even with good series, but I feel like I forced gaming too much. Staring at the screen, trying to find the game that's at least tolerable just I can tell that I'm playing something and yay gaming... doesn't really make it. Also in this mood one is more likely to choose shorter games just to get through them, and in many cases - if you go for world/story - the longer games are way better.
In short: you are you, and not your habits. You can change. Do what feels good instead of sticking to habits that don't really work out, take some rest, and most importantly, enjoy your time.

How you play games changes for sure. When I was 20 I could easily play for 10 or more hours. Now even if I have the time I might play for 3 or 4 hours, but then I need to do something else. Also my interest in gaming comes and goes. It's never really away, but it changed a lot back and fourth during my 30 years of gaming. Nothing to worry about :)

i quit playing games many years ago, totally, when fps boom started. eventually i resumed and now again i feel like stopping for lack of intetest (apart from rocksmith and some racing games). it's normal to change hobbies with time. thinking now in buying a sports car.

Its been downhill for years now. Gaming is not going to DIE but it will even out and be pretty F'ing vainlla. Too much "shovelware" from the mobile trend

I'm 41 now and I just feel the same way. I still play, bit not as much a s I did many years ago.
There are some reasons like own family, work and change of interests.
And, the people who now say: "I will play as long as I'm not dead!" - they will change their mind, I'm pretty sure. :) That was also my opinion, but over the years that will change.

Sometimes I lose interest in games, but when an actually good game comes along, I get sucked into it and feel like a kid again. There's too many mediocre games out there, that just bore me. I need something really good to catch my interest.

Oh man I feel the same, even tho I am just 18 now. I feel like older games used to be much more enjoyable to play, now everything is kinda boring. When new game comes out, I don't have the same feeling as older times anymore. Days of old Need for Speed Underground, old strategy games, old Tomb Raiders were the best to me, I spent hours and hours playing them as a kid and I still have them on my PC just to feel that nostalgia.

Ahoi,

I mostly quit playing games in the 00s, started again in '10 because the outside world was not for me. I'll be 30 in a year.
I don't play through the night tho, I am now pretty much falling asleep at like 22-23. I also don't play for hours, instead I play a little bit every day.
I am intending to play through the great games that came out during my absence. Now playing Vietcong, after that I'm thinking about trying N.O.L.F. I got from ebay last month.

Hey guys,
as time goes by we grow older. And as much as I hate to admit it, I'm losing interest in video games. I'm 30 years old right now and whilst I always enjoy a good time in the Darkest Dungeon or CS:GO, I can't pull all-nighters anymore or keep playing games for hours and hours straight like I used to when I was.. well.. like.. 18?
Most of the time, I'm too tired from work and can't be bothered to play games after getting off work. Which could be understandable, but even at the weekends, I prefer to do other stuff.
How does this apply to you? Do you feel the same? My golden age was back in the 90s, playing NES and SNES all day long. I kinda miss those times.
All the best,
t0b3
