Buying any kind of account-bound or online-activated games is always a bad idea unless:
a) you really trust the company and the service (and even then it can still turn out to be a bad idea someday)
or
b) its REALLY REALLY REALLY CHEAP
Valve/Steam fullfills both requirements for me.. EA will never be able to conquer a), so they have to make up for it with b) if they want me as a customer. I bought the Humble Origin Bundle mostly for the Origin-Games for example.

I don't like that it still doesn't have screenshot capability (I keep asking for it when they solicit feedback). Also, as others have said, I don't like that I can't gift games & DLC to friends/family.
That said, I do like that I can look at my Mass Effect games and within a few clicks see all the DLC available and what I have purchased (much clearer to me than on Steam where you have to click on the page for each DLC to see if you own it).

I don't hate Origin but I think its very unnecessary. There game selection is weak, there sales arnt as good and its a personal preference but I think it has an exteamly ugly and clunky interface. Plus the fact that it uses 4x the resources as steam is just annoying.
I can't comment on there support side of things. In the last 10 years of using steam I have never had an issue. Also steam creates more of a community for gamers to connect and share witch is awesome :)

The last nail in the coffin for origin is when I had to find workarounds just to get games to install. With a download cap it is super annoying to download 15gb of data just to get an error saying the game cant be installed. I can honestly say that has never happened once to me on steam.

Origin is just a piece of trash. EA doesn't even try to make it any good and it purely exists for the sake of DRM. There are so many small things that are just annoying (Origin icon constantly flashing when launching BF4 through Battlelog, client and game updates require you to accept that Windows security thingy a million times, bad interface in general).

I don't hate it, but I really prefer to try and keep everything in one utility (Steam). Trying to remember where I bought which games is annoying. It took me a while to remember on which random digital game site I had bought World of Conflict. Turns out, it was Gamersgate, which I kind of forgot even existed once I started focusing on Steam.

Games, add a non-Steam game to my library. Now all your games are in one place.

I have 17 games on Origin and never had a problem. EA even gave me the Complete Collection of the original Battlefield 2 (Even though I only had the standard retail edition). The support is awesome and I like the design of the library far more than Steams.
So, nothing to complain from me :)

Actually, it was Steam that drove them away. You should pay attention to what actually happened before you run your mouth.

Well a simple question, so much peoples hates origin, then waht is the reason?
for me:
--> No good promos how steam
--> Can redeem a game code of a game you already have on your account, and you lose the code(well this is hard to do but....)
