Interesting, what does it have to with XCom? - Solomon/Firaxis, ah ok so it´s like CIV, anything else.. it´s turnbased. Yeah, like CIV so !?
They put like different resources besides money in! As I said, it´s like CIV ..
But seriously, from what´s to see here this is much more like a Fantasy C-RPG than any XCom ever was, even Gollops variants.
The mixup into 4x with different resources has been long done before - hi there Fallen Enchantress! Even XCom itself relied heavily on it (hello Weapon Fragments, Elerium, Alloys, etc.).
Then there´s the Cards, well I don´t know about them Cards, but it seems to be én vogue so here we are ..
What´s "new" is the transition of the genré from top down/god mode to 3rd/1st person perspective as more or less recently reinvented by Mordheim and subsequently continued on Necromunda and even Firaxis´ own Chimera Squad.
What´s left is the whole Marvel thing, but that´s a whole other story. Just wait until Galactus has his comeback & the Silver Surfer refuses to save us ; )
I´m hopeful Firaxis will deliver a solid game, that I probably won´t play for awhile.

i'm not sure how I feel about them using cards, but it looks like a lot of xcom dna is in there so it might still be good
