Might be some bad extensions.

I have Steamgifts whitelisted on my adblock extension. The only adverts I see are like these ones:

I have not had that kind of full screen ad. However, I have periodically (once every 2-3 days roughly) had ads that redirect the page to malicious websites (e.g. "We've found a virus on your computer, download this program to clean it.")

I know it is the ads because it only occurs when I leave a tab open focused on the home page. It never occurs when I leave a tab open on the forums.

Weird, the only ads I've ever seen on a vanilla browser were generally the auto-play videos. I know I'm not contributing anything useful, but maybe this comment can spark an idea somewhere 🛁

Ublock origins blocks them all. In android chrome, I get the sidebar square ad and the banner at the bottom.
