What do you guy think.

I'm really upset to be honest, as I was at BF1's front cover.

These games are released too quickly. In my humble opinion, I don't think a good multiplayer game should get pushed aside for another game after only a few years.

You gotta keep in mind there is probably sevral hundred people working on the game, over several years, with a massive budget.

I watched https://youtu.be/xegBXGaFrOU and it sure seems like this BF is rather game changing.

I used to say "buy one every 2-3 years" for CoD and BF but I don't see a reason to buy any of those anymore. Same old shit, doesn't change that much even after 3 years. We desperately need a new IP ...

The solution is supporting smaller devs who actually put some heart into the games they make rather than releasing another reskin of the same title. If you're into FPS genre you might want to check out likes as Rising Storm: Vietnam, Verdun/Tannenberg, Day of Infamy or Squad.

+1.

Insurgency was better than any CoD/BF that came out in that year.

You could mention that there are also 2 free DLCs on Origin right now, for previous parts of the BF series.

2016, no black actors at the Oscar, boycotts etc. = Black soldier on the boxart.
2018, #MeToo, Wonder Woman, etc. = Female soldier on the boxart.
GGWP EA

Disclaimer: I'm not against the facts mentioned above, when they MAKE SENSE, it was just the first thing to come in my mind after the reveal, and it's sad, because it was the only thing about these reveal.

What do you mean?

Clearly WW2 had females with prosthetic arms and blue face paint running around with katanas and cricket bats. /s

Seriously though is it too much to ask for BF1942 on the Frostbite engine, that would be amazing. If they want to 'diversify' their games they shouldn't market them under the guise of being 'period accurate', it's laughable, just make a new IP at that point.

Trailer was kind of a mess in my opinion. Way more chaotic & weird than I thought a WW2 themed game would be. I dunno, maybe it'll be a great game, maybe even a great Battlefield game, but I don't have the highest hopes as Battlefield 1 didn't hold my attention very much.

Zero historical authenticity and gameplay that more and more mimics the worst parts of the Call of Duty games. Nah, I'm good thanks.

The trailer was awful.

However, some YT people who have seen more say the actual gameplay is a lot different from the shitshow shown in the trailer

I'll wait for a live mp stream before I decide if its worth it.
Its mostly staged mp and sp in the trailer and usually doesnt represent the actual mp gameplay.
I'm not too excited about the WW2 setting.

I just hope no Snoop this time.

Good to see the series going back to its roots. The first Battlefield was a large-scale multiplayer only WWII game, but due to technological constraints, they could only use male soldier models, authentic weaponry which was moderately modified in characteristics to let people hit each other for gameplay purposes, and a modest amount of vehicles for rapid deployment and some armoured edge over the opoosing team.

Finally, they can do the real WWII game we need. One that is not confined by the shackles of history or realism, a WWII game that shows those dumb backward 20th century veterans (of whom some still live among us) how they should have fought the war. With female soldiers or all ethnicity (after all, the segregation which lasted way into the 60s is now retroactively considered as if it never happened) using their freshly-developed cybernetic arms to stop the Nazi menace of its endless amount of tanks and continental ballistic missiles before this technology was unfortunately lost and took 70 years to redevelop. Now we can play a WWII how our modern society declared it should have happened instead of this pesky facts and stuff. Truly completing the World War 1 game they made, which also finally could disregard authencity for the sake of modern views on how people before us should have acted, and also making sure that machine guns were plentiful and not just deployed in limited prototype quantities at the tail end of the conflict.

So I've been playing Battlefield games since BF1942. And I feel like the last two Battlefields are trying to prove something that did not happen, for certain people to feel happy.

I always expressed that even the cover for BF1 was stupid with a black guy on the cover of the BF1. I understand and accept there were black people fighting in WW1, but they were minority. Most of the people were europeans, and that is really sad that they didn't even deserve to be the cover of the game. Not a guy with an epic mustache, but some minority.

Anyway,

This new Battlefield trailer is now the stupidest shit I've seen after call of duty's black wehrmacht soldier. Everything there is just a big fucking question and nothing makes any sense at all.

The map looks like Market Garden, which is one of the biggest operations of WW2. And in the trailer we can see the soldiers look like British resistance fighters. In short Market Garden was an offensive against Germany and it's allies. So what the hell do resistance fighters do in the frontline who are clearly British? If they were like Poles (who took a big part on Britain's side mostly as pilots) I would understand it, but these guys seem like some time and dimension travellers. They don't fit into the situation, they are like some kind of bike gang from new mexico.

Also I don't want to offend women, but that part is also extremely stupid. I doubt that the british/american sent women into the frontline. Even soviets didn't do this shit to send women to front lines. Allied forces haven't had that manpower problem like Nazi Germany. And on the top of that, she has a missing left hand. How the fuck does she operate a weapon like that. Or more, how the fuck does she reload a weapon? Left hand is required to remove, and insert the magazine.

If they want to show of what women did in WW2 (and they did a great credit), why they didn't show the famous spitfire pilots, or the soviet sniper women, or the nurses. But this thing is just out of this universe.

Is this how women looked like in WW2?:

https://i.redd.it/eigukxc8aoz01.png

I understand that we now live in a world where certain groups require more attention, but maybe you guys shouldn't bend history and claim it's a historically accurate game.

And if we look over all these stupid shit, the whole trailer was utter chaos. Is it singleplayer? Is it multiplayer? I can see the multiplayer hud, but it seems like a singleplayer mission. But if it is multiplayer, why the characters are not wearing proper army uniform? Why they are like a bike gang? If it is market garden, why we don't see the iconic parachute guys?

Maybe the developers should stop proving points that stupid P.C. people made up, and should be focusing on the real aspects of the war. This is really getting out of hand. I was really upset at BF1 that they didn't include hungarian forces isntead they went for a black guy to show off. But now this way of showing women in WW2 is even more stupid, on a level that it can't be measured.

You make some good points. The way I take it is that if you imagine a game marketed as a realistic and respectful portrayal of a historical, largely Asian or African conflict (just as examples, and they're set there as well like the case with this game); and they seemingly made half the in-game characters white, just how... Awfully disrespectful that would be. And that's not including the gender issue here either.
This all MIGHT be okay if they WEREN'T marketing said game as "realistic" or just left it as options in player customization, but they're not doing that here so presumably they wouldn't do it there either. I feel like more people should be upset about this because if you wouldn't want one disrespectful portrayal of history, you really shouldn't want any. And this is bad encouragement.
